Sorry for the lateness, but I am on the US West Coast and Tien is off having a baby. I am working on this and it will be up shortly

They say Music is the universal language, so let's make our own symphony of quotes from our books from the music shelf.
Any quote will do, but if you are stuck pick page 46 or 112 just for kicks.

Don't forget to post quotes from your Music shelf books. Help us write our symphony of quotes
here

Lynn B - That sounds really interesting.
Bea - OOH, I forgot about that one....it is on my TBR, maybe I should read that one. :)

I love that this is something different. I am looking forward to reading:
Where She WentThe DisenchantmentsThis LullabyThe Perks of Being a WallflowerIf I can find one of these at the library I will read:
Hotel California: The True-Life Adventures of Crosby, Stills, Nash, Young, Mitchell, Taylor, Browne, Ronstadt, Geffen, the Eagles, and Their Many FriendsJim Morrison: Life, Death, Legend

That is correct, Bea! Glad you were able to find it in my absence. :)

Since there are only three people participating, you are all in one group. So go ahead and give each other the correct number of books and start reading and discussing. Let me know if you have questions. I think we will just use this thread since there are not many participants this time. :)
Bea wrote: "Hey, Lynn. I just noticed a mispelling in the title of this thread! Back to English class, girl."LOL, I will have to fix that. Obviously I need something more remedial than American Lit!
Anna wrote: "I'm almost done with
I'm so not ready for this book to end, but at the same time I'm so curious to know what happens with Adam and Mia."I read and reviewed this book a couple of years ago, and I think it is one of the best YA books that I have read.

Glad that you are looking forward to some American Lit, Kristen. Hope it helps you get back into reading this fall.

I certainly can. And the exclamations! ;D

Darling Augusta -
Unless your eyes trouble you, dear Augusta,..."OH Tien, that quote made my day, lol. I love the way she says, "Unless your eyes are troubling you, read this to yourself." I can just imagine having such a letter read out loud during that time period!
Susan wrote: "Oops. Almost forgot. I'd loaned this book to my granddaughter to read.
From First Light, p. 46:
When she felt more composed, Thea sat up and reached for her trunk. Opening it, she..."Your quote made me look up the book, and it looks really interesting, Susan. Dang, another one on my TBR.

Isn't it great when you can score like that, Tien. :)

"Perhaps there's ano..."LOve those quotes, Lynlee, especially the second one. Inkheart is on either my Moving Mountains or my LOST list. I really should get it read.

There are some really great choices on the lists here. Can't wait to see how everyone does. And don't forget to post quotes from the books. Here is the link:
American Lit Homework

I am glad to see others buddy reading, too. I wish I could join you, but I am reading
The Woman in White this month with another group, and that is daunting enough for me, lol. I was really hoping that it was mis-shelved on this shelf, but Nope...
Karen wrote: "It seems to be one of those shelves that has some really odd choices on it. I wouldn't have classed Things Fall Apart, The Satanic Verses or Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea as american litera..."Yep, none of those are American authors.....
Amanda wrote: "Things Fall Apart is on the list ? I usually see him referred to as a Nigerian author.
That's why I find some things on the lists confusing ..."These lists are always confusing. You never know what people's criteria are for shelving books on certain shelves, lol. For a while we had a standing joke that the Harry Potter books were on every shelf on Goodreads.
Marie wrote: "Amanda wrote: "Based on outstanding Scattershelves reads, what I currently have on loan from the library and what I have on hold my likely reads will be :
Little House in the Big Woods..."Marie - I have been 128th on the list at our library before. :P
