Tea - Can you let me know how many books you would like to read for this challenge during February and March?

Thanks

I loved this three! The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, And Then There Were None, The Cuckoo's Calling"

And Then There Were None is one of my faves of all time. Got me hooked on Agatha Christie! And my sister keeps telling me to read The Cuckoo's Calling, she says it is excellent. :)

8565 Just a clarification - You MUST list the Goodreads shelf that you want the members on your team to pick from for the session. The preferred method is for you to link it here as that makes it really easy for all of us to find the correct shelf. Any of us can help you or even link it for you if you want. However, a link is not required since we can get to your shelf by using your profile.

I am going to try including the shelf links with the team designations when I make them as I think I can find all of the shelves and link. That way we won't have to filter through posts to find the person's link. We'll see how it goes.........

8565 Those are pretty funny, D.G. I have to admit....I never thought of that. What would Satan or anyone else want with a bunch of "first borns"?

Yes, you can change the number of books at the beginning of each cycle.

Alex, don't forget to designate a shelf,

8565 I am glad to see so many people participating. This will be fun.
Jan 17, 2015 12:32PM

8565 OK, now I am confused. I thought that the book I read only has to be on the shelf I end up with, i.e. ANYTHING on the humanities shelf that fits the "first page" criteria is okay.

Or does it actually have to be a book where humanities shows up on the first page of its top shelves AND non fiction since that is the broad category?

I think I am not the only one picking fiction books from the shelves under Non-fiction.

8565 Amanda wrote: "Please refresh my jigsaw-addled brain ( got the outside done, now to get the first layer complete ! It's 4D and fabulous! ), if I nominate 1 book, do I only read 1 book, or one book per team member ?"

Amanda - If you say you want to read 1 book, then you will get about 10 choices, but you only read one book total, NOT one per team member.

8565 Niamh wrote: "Sounds like a good challenge :) Do we have to have a specific shelf or can I just nominate my to-read shelf where all my new books get added? And can we add more books to the shelf during the year?"

Niamh - You can use any of your shelves you want, so your To Read shelf is fine. Secondly - yes more books can be added throughout the time to the shelf.

8565 I love how all of these fiction books are showing up on the non-fiction shelves. Gives me hope....

8565 Dee wrote: "so my picker has a good range of picks? (does that make sense)"

Ahh, well, the rule is the number you want to read plus one from each person, so you would want to have at least that many books on your list.

So for you - It would be three books from each picker, and probably 5 or so pickers. That would be 15 books minimum.

8565 Dee wrote: "am i that predictable? any minimum number of books (typically this challenges gets me 20-30 picks)"

Not predictable, really....I just know that I can count on you to be there. :) As for minimum, in what way?
Jan 16, 2015 02:59PM

8565 I know that I can always count on you Dee. :)

I am in for this session, too. My shelf is To Read Mine and I will read one book

Sorry you aren't playing this one, Susan. You will be missed.

FYI - I ended up with the same first role as you did black and humanities. I did finally find a book that I thought would be good....Ghost Girl by Torey L. Hayden. A number of my friends gave it either 4 or 5 stars so I am going to give it a try.
