Interesting. That is not quite the definition that I would have come up with, but it does make a lot of sense. I grew up on the gothic romance books, so they always come to mind for me.

I'd love to see the definition you found, Debi. Can you post it here?

Susan, that is good to know. I actually own Graceling and it has been sitting on one of my bedroom bookshelves ever since it came out. I really need to read it. What I need is to find some way to fit it into a challenge, lol.

Technically, there should be no overlaps, but it is really up to the person whose list it is. If they are OK with it, I am okay with it. :)

8565 Wow, there are a lot of really good books on this list. If you haven't read them yet, I highly recommend Fiercombe Manor (US title....UK title is The Girl in the Photograph) and Rebecca are two of my faves.

I think I will try to get to:

Dracula (been trying to get to this one all year)
The Witch of Painted Sorrows
This Rough Magic
A Sudden Light

I could list more, but I probably won't even get to all of these.

8565 I think I will try to fit in Dracula as it is also on my Moving Mountains list. :)

8565 Here are my choices:

Amanda I have only read the first one that I chose, but I really liked it. The others sound really interesting, though.

These are all books I really want to read, so maybe you can read one and let me know what you think. Except The Quiet Game. I just started the second one in that series and I really like them.
The Twelve

Bitterblue
The Quiet Game

Marie

I loved all of these.
The Secret Garden
Where There's Smoke
Black Beauty
The Raven

Kaitlin
I loved all of these, too.

8565 OK all - it is finally time to pick our books for each person and to get reading. Sorry it took so long to get this done. :P

Below are the team members, their number of books, and the shelves they want us to pull from:

Amanda - 3 books from nominees
Susan - 3 books from POTS 2015
Marie - 3 books from To Read or Own but Unread
Kaitlin - 2 books from To Read
Lyn - 1 book from TBR Library

Remember - When picking books for team members, you pick them number they signed up for plus one. For example I signed up for one book, so each person will pick 2 books for me to choose from.

8565 HUGE APOLOGIES everyone. I got home on the 7th only to find that we had no internet. Took them the rest of the week to figure it out. I am at the library today working on their computers.

Anyway - the teams are above. Reading can start as soon as your team gets the book picks up.

Thanks Susan.

BTW - I have noticed that you can't edit with the phone app also. I can't figure out why and it really drives me nuts. :(
