OMG Stephanie! Thank goodness the people are safe. I'm very sorry to hear about the bird, and the kitty's injuries. I hope kitty recovers fully and quickly.
I hope you and family can get back on track sooner than later.
The only "offsite" backup I can think of is using "cloud-like" services that can be accessed from any computer, for instance Dropbox.

Two weeks feels like forever! That's how long it has been since I've completed a book. I'm still trudging along between The Silver Chair and Earth Abides. I'm not really enjoying either very much, but I don't want to put either of them down.

My plans for February now completely out of the window, I'm not sure what I'll read next - either The Sign of Four, Howl's Moving Castle, or Because of Winn-Dixie. I'm just hoping I can read 4 books in the next 10 days so that I can complete my February "Luuuuuurve N Stuff Challenge" over on FoF.
