It IS 2014 somewhere.
So, I'm starting a Jan 2014 group read when I get home tonight!"
We are kindred spirits, you and I ! :)
:) When I added TLtWatW to post #2 last night, it's date also changed to Nov. 2nd. How bizarre!Even stranger, is that they all now say Nov. 1st again! O.o

It does actually seem like an interesting tale; I enjoyed the 3 or four chapters that I read and I've placed it back on my TBR list. I just can't manage to give it the attention it deserves.

I'm going to try to be nice to myself this year..."True. There seems to be an odd pressure that we, or at least I, put on myself when I make a list of books to read - even when they're books I know I want to read. Then I lose interest as soon as I tell myself "You have to read "X". On the other hand, I also find myself being overwhelmed by the sheer number of books I have at my disposal {talk about first world problems}, so I'm trying to walk a thin line. I'm giving myself a smaller selection pool, but leaving it wide open as to reading order.
Thats one of the things I like about the series challenge - Its based on what you read, not specifically on how many, or which ones you read. If that makes sense.

*Fingers Crossed* for both of us! :) I'm really hoping that the Series challenge over at FoF helps! I keep finding more series that I want to start/finish.

I haven't even tried the series because of how bloody it is.
As to the group - DITTO! It's been a lot of fun so far and we haven't even started reading the books yet. :)

I sent her a message telling her how much I liked the book, and that I am a new fan.

Yes! One of the best things I've read in a long time. I loved every aspect of it! I can't wait to read book #2.
I've just started reading
The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry by Rachel Joyce. This will most likely be my last read of 2013.
A Very Merry Christmas! I hope your day has been a happy one!I just finished reading
Clean Sweep by Ilona Andrews and I absolutely loved it!!Finishing the story was a pleasant way to spend a couple hours of my Christmas evening.
So...
Origin never quite got off the ground. I just couldn't get into it.Since then I've read
Elfbitten and
Elfstruck, two highly erotic and very short stories, of acceptable quality, by Leila Bryce Sin. Plus, I will be finishing
School of Fear by Gitty Daneshvari, tonight.

Training Wheels: ReviewsOne of my goals for next year is to write "better" reviews; I mean something a little more substantial than fangirl squeals, this book bad, and/or meh.
I would like to stay away from synopsis, however (thats what the back of the book or book jacket is for). I also try not to include spoilers (when possible) but I understand that they are sometimes necessary in explaining why we like or dislike an aspect of the book.
What I'm looking for is a set of "Beginner" points to touch on in each review.
What do you all like to see?
That's high praise, indeed!!!I'm trying to save it all up.
The short stories don't have to be read in chronological order with the novels?

Very cool!
It'll be while before I'm back there.
