Nine and a half hours left, and there has been yet another shift in the poll! I can't believe how excited I am watching this! Rediculous! LOL
[See above post for current standings or please participate in the poll]
I really should be reading right now, but I'm both too tired and too wired at the same time. (Strange how that happens.)
Congratulations on just making your goal! :)I've opted to continue setting my GR Reading Challenge widget at 12, regardless of my actual goal(s), until the powers that be find a solution for those of us that like to Reread!
The poll continues ... With 40 minutes left:
1st place (21 votes): The Martian
2nd place (15 votes): The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
3rd place (9 votes): Ancillary Justice
Tied for 4th place (5 votes): Dealing with Dragons & The Iron King
Tied for 5th place (3 votes): Dust & Gardens of the Moon
Edit: A few votes came in as I was making this post. :)
Edit #2: I've decided to continue updating this particular post until the poll ends tonight.

Yes..I look forward to reading it. Thank you for your recommendation as well. :)

1st place (14 votes): The Martian
Tied for 2nd place (7 votes each) : Ancillary Justice or The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
A very distant 3rd but in reality 4th place (with only 3 votes so far): The Iron King
Next would be Dust or Gardens of the Moon (2 votes each) and then The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making ( a single vote from someone other than myself).
The other books either received a single vote from me, or no votes at all. "
Ancillary Justice has just slipped into 2nd place with an 8th vote.

Worse - For those of us who use it, we'll still have to wait until US Pacific Time before being able to set up the GR 2015 challenge widget.
Homeinmyshoes wrote: "I don't believe unlogged in users (anonymous lurkers) can vote so you'd always have a lot more looks than votes. 18 voters is pretty good.I've posted two polls in Reading Recommendations previous..."
Gottcha. Well in that case, thank you. :)
According to MobileRead: 477 people have looked at the poll, but only 18 (Which includes myself) have voted.
Thank you!!! Yes, The Martian was at 13, I believe, when I l checked this morning. Others have started picking up a little though, but not anywhere close to The Martian.
I'm considering picking my first 3 to 5 books based, on the final results of the poll. All choices will have to have a minimum of 5 votes.
The poll will be open until tomorrow (Jan 1st, 2015) night. Keeping it up for only 24 hours didn't seem like quite enough time.
Homeinmyshoes wrote: "Congratulations and best of luck in next years challenges."Ditto! Congratulations Caleb!! Wishing you a very Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year!
I decided to set up a poll on MobileRead: How Should I start off the New Year? Please vote...Thank you. :)
Thanks to a little Christmas money (aka Amazon Gift Card) I have overwhelmed my self with options and I would like help choosing how to end 2014/ begin 2015 please. The following selections are books I already or now own and they will help me to get a jump on one or more of my 2015 challenges.
All of them should be good for at least one spot in the "Anything Once" challenge as well:
Series Challenge (-10 pt penalty for being new):
The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
FoF Group Read & Series Challenge (no penalty):
Dust ,
Red Rising ,
Gardens of the Moon ,
Seraphina ,
Lord of the Silver Bow ,
Ancillary Justice ,
Blood Song ,
The Madman's Daughter ,
The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making , or
Dealing with Dragons
FoF Group Read:
Mr. Shivers ,
The Book ,
Bird Box ,
Swan Song , or
The Martian
MobileRead Bookclub Read (January 2015) & Series Challenge (-5 pt penalty for being a new series read for another group):
The Iron KingI wish I could just turn this into an actual poll! lol
Votes/suggestion will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
In a fit of OCD, this is what my entries will most likely look like in 2015.The only thing missing is the monthly goal number I usually put at the end, specifically for the series challenge.
I'm trying to decide if I want to keep it or not.

Here is what my last entry looks like for the series challenge:
(view spoiler)
My other thought is to just copy the entire series entry over here (adding the I'll Try Anything Once info), instead of editing it to remove the series challenge info, as usual.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
