That Popular Science tag is hard because some of the books in those PS lists don't have it on the main page but they've been tagged by lots of readers.

We've done the Crayolas now we're on Tower Teams spell outs and there are lots of everything needed, I think. Check out the spreadsheet.

I picked up The Age Of Innocence in an Op Shop yesterday for $1. Along with three other $2 books for a grand total of $7. One is a thick Marion Keyes with a purple cover. I'll get to that in July.

72. X-Rays - Read a book with bone(s) on the cover"
Does a skull count as bones?

Interestingly my paperback has about 100 pages more than the hardback.

Julius by Daphne du Maurier

Julius is a remarkable creation. He's ruthless, supremely selfish
and incapable of love or empathy but Du Maurier is such a terrific storyteller I just had to keep reading.

That should be relatively easy to find - most Romcoms se..."
With my romance author hat on, I agree. When I started out on the road to publication that was one of the big no-no's that was dinned into aspiring writers at conferences etc. If the two characters can sit down and talk through the problem you don't have enough of a conflict. The other thing I learned early on was that editors hate plots that rely on coincidences like overheard conversations or someone arriving unexpectedly at just the wrong time. Still, authors get away with those things and I suspect with the rise of self-publishing those aspects aren't picked up as much anymore.
And then there's the Too Stupid To Live heroine... the one who confronts the bad guy alone in the dark at an isolated location.

Read a book with MPG Popular Science"
I had a look at the Lists and came up with this: https://www.goodreads.com/genres/most...
It seems to include a range of books covering psychology, chemistry etc that are written for non scientists eg I've read 21 Lessons for the 21st Century which I enjoyed and we have Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by the same author which I don't really want to tackle but will if we're stuck.
This looks interesting Truth: A Brief History of Total Bullsh*t

When we were in Cornwall in the the mid seventies there was such thick fog (about 15 degrees in June) we could barely see the water when we stood at Land's End. Very atmospheric though, crossing the moors with those little ponies appearing out of the gloom. Have you read Lorna Doone? It's set in Exmoor rather than Cornwall but is similar in mood.
My husband picked Julius up somewhere. He said it's quite unpleasant because Julius is such a horrible selfish person.

Thanks everyone.

GR has 152. My edition is a Penguin publication, same cover, 1971 edition. GR says 1977. Mine is definitely earlier because I wrote my maiden name in it and I was married by 1977.
