35559 My next book is Peace Peace (Paul Hirschhausen #2) by Garry Disher which is a detective mystery. Might work for our new task. Seems he has to investigate a vicious killing linked to a strange, isolated family.

35559 Would my Jeffery Smart memoir count as getting under the skin of something? His own skin? He reveals lots about his private life, Not just about his art but also his love life and what it was like being gay both in Aus and also when he travelled to Europe after WW 2, in Europe and England. He was born in 1921. He met an extraordinary number of now famous people in the sixties while living in Rome.

35559 I just booked Sky Burial An Epic Love Story of Tibet by Xinran Sky Burial by Chinese author Xinran for pick up at my local library branch. Fills the Chinese Chipmunk task or if someone's already on that, an X in Team Tower.

My book group read another book by her, Buy Me the Sky, about the effect on all the resulting only children the one child policy had. A generation of spoilt little brats. Hahaha She overhead one kid say , 'Buy me the sky' to its parents.

Eldarwen is focusing on Team Towers and the new challenges rather than colour covers, for more points.

Haha. This guy lasts about two days then expects his girlfriend to look after the baby. It was written in 1978. I don't think that bloke's attitude would get him far nowadays! It's the 'woman's work' thing in action.

Chipmunk: parent child relationship. Widowed Oliver takes his son, 2 yr old Thomas, from the keeping of his maternal grandparents but soon tires of the responsibility.

35559 I’m halfway through Wild Mountain Thyme by Rosamunde Pilcher in which a man steals back his 2 year old son. It’s a big plot point because he involves the heroine in caring for the boy. It’s a romance but she ends up with someone else. Enough parent child stuff?

What a hilariously ridiculous bunch of stories. Kept reminding me of the Famous Five with the stereotypical foreign baddies.

35559 Good old Agatha wrote a few Tommy and Tuppence books. Crime solving married couple. I’ll hunt one out of my shelf. Quick read and better to add to our total rather than fiddle things?

They're very readable and Follett is a great storyteller. I filled in a lot of knowledge gaps about WW 1 when I read the first one in May. Stuff I'd covered in History at school many decades ago but either forgotten or it wasn't covered. Both likely scenarios.
