The character Ibrahim has a very minor role as a servant so not really usable. If we need an I name this book can be swapped for Sparkling Cyanide--main character Iris, but used for A.

An interesting side note : This book came out in 1945. In it Betty Archdale is a maid but the name rang a bell with me. I looked her up and the real Betty A was captain of the English Women's cricket team in the 1930's. I didn't know that but she then migrated to Aus and became headmistress of a private girl's school called Abbotsleigh in Sydney. That's why I knew the name. My cousins went there.

Maybe AC put her in as a tribute. By all accounts she was an extraordinary woman and had a great reputation as a headmistress.

35559 When I was a kid our dog used to swing around on the Hills Hoist hanging onto a sheet. Drove Mum nuts.

My friend’s dog was a regular at the vet. Had a few operations to remove things. The rubber glove was in pieces in its innards but a ribbon is the worst apparently so keep yours away from long thin things like that. They get twisted around internal bits and pieces.

35559 Is a dog a carnivore or an omnivore? Bearing in mind my friend had a dog who ate a rubber glove and the tv remote.

35559 On the recommendations from team members I picked up North and South yesterday but it will take too long to read, I think, so won’t do us much good.

35559 I just found I have an old romance which fits Author initials in PETRIFIED.
The Billionaire Baby Bombshell (Billionaires and Babies, #10) by Paula Roe by Paula Roe.

I can read it next if we want to try for that Wheel task. I'd rather read something else if not but it's short.

No worries. A book read is a book read. And I’m enjoying this one. It has lions in it if that comes up.

No. It had animals galore from dinosaurs to fish and butterflies but no platypuses or herons. It was set in Cairns which is tropical. Great thriller though!

My current book is set in Australia--had geese, cats, dogs, cane toads and crocodiles so far but I'll keep an eye out. Haven't really been keeping herons and platypuses in mind because it's a 400 pager.
