I have a heap of 400+ a couple of which are 490. So near and yet so far.

My husband loves Murakami but the one book I read didn’t do anything for me.
Sputnik Sweetheart

Would this qualify as stationery on the cover? Just ignore the cyanide it’s wrapping. Haha

I have
The Remains of the Day Kazuo Ishiguro next on my list after Heart of Darkness. There’s an I.
It won the 1989 Booker prize if we want to use The Sellout for something else.

Okay. No diamonds on covers but for Sith I have
Heart of Darkness
which is tagged Post Colonial 38 times and the title starts with H from Sith.

I’m reading
. Title starts with J. Also Agatha has diamonds on the cover of something. Sparkling Cyanide, I think. Will investigate further and report back after breakfast.

Not sure if new writer prize competition in the plot meets the talent competition task for chipmunk 107, I guess writing is a talent :)"As an author I’d say it is. From the blurb on the back cover of my next book someone is an ex beauty queen. Doubt that qualifies. Haha

Loved this. True story of a Chinese woman separated from her husband in 1958 when he was sent with the army to 'Liberate Tibet'. She spends the next 30 years searching for him in Tibet, most of that living with nomads high in the mountains.
Chipmunk task 106: A book set in China or by a Chinese author. Set in China and Tibet by a Chinese author.

Must keep in mind my book Peace if we get another ladder or to reassign the books in Wheel task 2. Also have one called Fall on my TBR pile.

This is a random unrelated to TT question but what do you all think about reading books with regional/foreign nationality accents written into the text? eg for a French person speaking English 'I 'ave not 'eard of this book.
Is it annoying?

My book
has 817 pages, is tagged family and family saga more than 10 times. There’s been a miscarriage but sure to be babies along the way. WW2 has just begun. There has already been spying but only disguise rather than a new name. That’s sure to happen later. I’m about half way through so will take a few more days to finish

Eldarwen, you still have my Not Quite Straight book listed as a 400 pager when it should now be Free Choice as a Chipmunk, I think. Unless you're keeping both options open...
