35559 My first read for June will be A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man by James Joyce which I think is brown. Also have this blue one on my list for later Islands of Abandonment by Cal Flyn . This one was a gift and it looks really interesting. All about nature reclaiming areas man has turned into wastelands eg Chernobyl.

Possibly fits Electra. Has a strong element of revenge as Terry’s motivation for hunting the killer of Graciela’s sister.

35559 I’ll finish my 450 page book Blood Work by Michael Connelly in the next day or two. Will have time for a couple of short ones after that, I think, then into June. Maybe a 500 pager in my TBR pile.

Same with Dune and Ender's Game. I feel a trip to the secondhand bookshop coming on.

35559 I've been wanting to read Fahrenheit 451 for a while which is a Hugo winner but don't have a copy yet, so go for it, Haley.

35559 I figured that must be the case given how sharp you are at this, Eldarwen. Not likely to mistake yellow for black hahaha

If I've looked at the correct 2017 list for the Chipmunks Tower I can read no. 451 The Marsh King's Daughter. It's sitting in my TBR pile by the bed.
The Marsh King's Daughter by Karen Dionne

I was quite surprised by how many I've read on that list.

35559 With the Rainbow Towers are the cover colours matched to the column on the left or are we making up our own rainbow towers based on what covers turn up. Just wondering because some listed don't match the left column and I have a few coloured covers in my TBR pile I might read in TT.

It’s a dense style of writing but his use of language is brilliant. Hope you like it.

Set in Alexandria, Egypt. Detailed pages of traditional funeral rites involving ashes in hair, ullulating, dancing, smashing household crockery.

I was given this book by a friend for my 21st birthday many decades ago. I loved it then and still do. Very rich and evocative language bringing to life the exotic, mysterious city. Four linked books in one volume tell the interwoven stories of four people as understood by the narrator, Darley. Set in the late 1930's it tells of the loves, lies, intrigues and careers of the British, French and Egyptian characters. Each book adds background to the love affair of Darley with Justine, adding more detail and information unknown to the narrator at the time.

It made me want to visit Alexandria and my husband and I finally did on a trip to Egypt in January 2011.

It's a nuisance when a cover looks a certain colour in reality but the GR version shows up as a bit different. I have one that looks deep plummy purple but on GR and Tineye it comes up as brown. GR also doesn't have the exact cover and edition either.

In Tower T is it strategically better if we reach the 600 quota, to slow finish any extras to finish for the June count? Just thinking that for the extras count the faster readers can knock over a couple of short books and up the tally in the same time as finishing eg an 800 pager.
