The problem with first-come-first-serve for goals was that I'm in a different time zone so early in the game all the goals would be taken when I logged on. The books were locked in and I never got a chance to read for a goal. Also, the faster the goals were finished the more new goals were generated so that every book read had more of a chance to count. Because you couldn't use books from a previous session for goals it was important to keep new goals coming all the time. (And it would have been a real mess if books didn't lock in every two weeks. I think the Captains had enough to keep track of.)
I really didn't read thinking "Oh, wow, let's see if I can steal someone else's goal." I read knowing that those "goalless" books would be more likely to count for goals with a faster turn over.
Anyway, it's over and I had fun. I'm truly sorry if I ruined someone else's fun, it wasn't my intent. I just played the game and tried to be a good team member. And I hope that the mods and Captains thought it was worth all the work they did, because I know a lot of us really enjoyed it. :)

I love cover tasks, too. You can search through the books your library has available so you don't waste time tracking down books that are on hold. And there's that lovely agony when you're sure you had a book on your TBR with a flashlight or whatever, but now you can't find it... lol
