My palindrome book SUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS so I'm avoiding it and reading GR instead."
Life is too short to read a lousy book. Pick a new goal and move on. :)

(I know I could do the perfect cube number, animal in title, pumpkin on cover or starts with "An".)

We keep getting so many repeats for goals!!! Even though there are hundreds we've never seen, LOL.
Not sure if we have one ..."
I know. You know the one goal we've only gotten once? "Read a book that you got for free." Every book I read would probably work for that one. lol Of course, it wouldn't be as satisfying. :)
ETA - I've been forgetting to put my team name in my messages when I report on my books. Sorry. You'd think after all this time I wouldn't forget that. :(

I'll read Village Diary tomorrow. It has the word "darning" in it. It's the next in the series, after Village School which I just read for "radish". So that works out nicely. lol
ETA - Team Maximus. Sorry I forgot.

I can read a book with "darning" in the text tomorrow, if we still need it.

I keep eyeing the RPGs, but I have no idea where to start or how. Is there an introductory one for folks who don't know if they'd like them or not, perhaps not a year-long one? Some place that explains how they work and where we can ask silly questions? I guess I'm envisioning an "RPG for Beginners", if that exists.
Thanks!

Thanks for picking up yet another goal-book!
"
No problem. The world is full of books worth picking up, a challenge just helps me decide which ones to try next. :)
Am off to finish "Romans" and start working on the review for it.

Is that goal still around? & which book is Dragon Harper? (suspect different UK/us titles)
I might be able to read it..."
It's this one: Dragon Harper by McCaffrey and her son Todd. Citrines should be mentioned twice. You can see it here: https://books.google.com/books?id=-V2...

You could use Jeeves in the Offing. Several of the girls get engaged to guys their families hate and Jeeves has to help them get their HEAs.

"
Sure, sorry. I can see why you don't want to try and go back to find it. :)
Village School 239 pages.
Use for "radish" in text.
"She had twisted the corner of the face-flannel into a formidable radish and was turning it remorselessly round and round inside his left ear." page 11

I'd already started it a couple of weeks ago and then put it aside. I think when this challenge is over I'm going to reread all her books, I love them so much. :)

Waiting for a few more opinions, then we'll get to requesting all of these boons. I think we're up to 4 now."
Again, it's just me, but I'm OK with that. Right now we still have time for people to pick and choose a book for a goal. When we get down to the last day or so only the quick readers will be able to do that. So clearing a few goals out now gives more chances to everybody to get in a last goal or two. Clearing them out at the last minute might allow us to use already finished books but it might not. But that's just my opinion, and I really don't care either way. :)
I vote boons for memoirs, C. Am author and Alexandrite.
Evidently "Citrine" can be found in Dragon Harper by Anne McCaffrey and Ruby Red by Kerstin Gier but I can't get either in the next couple of days.

"Read a book written by an author who was born in Central America"."
I vote boon, too. Though if you want to give it a few hours, that's OK. It's very limited and we don't have time for someone to request a book that would fit...

OK, works for me. :) I'll go read "radish". lol

It will work for the goal of "wolf in the title" or "name of an animal in the title."

How close are to to finishing your radish book? Since we're getting down to the wire I don't see any reason to duplicate efforts on purpose. I can read mine in a couple of hours if you want to focus on the dinosaur. If not, I'll find a different goal. No problems either way. :)

I'm all for using boons that have been hanging around with no one volunteering for them, especially those pesky ones like that memoir goal that keep coming back before we filled the last one. I'm thinking "alexandrite" is a toughie, too. Give everyone a chance to get one last goal book in. :)
