What - no pet names? lol

35559 I just checked out Garment of Shadows, 266 pages, first published Sept. 4, 2012. If it's as good as most in the series I'll have it read in day or two. :)

35559 I never even used to notice if a character in a book had pets. Now that's all I think about... lol

35559 Team Maximus:

I finished The Christmas He Loved Her, 336 pages. Has "in the heat of the moment" at location 1609.

Finished Fools Rush In: An April Fools Day Anthology, 236 pages. Has Xenia, "a character whose name starts with X".

That means Varro has temporary 4 goals"

I can completely seeing that happening. :)

I've been saving Fools Rush In: An April Fools Day Anthology because it has a character whose name starts with X. If someone else beats me to it, fine. Otherwise I can read it pretty soon.

There's a list of single-word palindromes of 5 or more letters here: http://www.word-buff.com/single-word-...

35559 I've finished Enchanting Samantha, 185 pages, for "book that starts with letter E".

Still working on The Hermit and a very religious character.

Oh, OK. Thanks for fixing it.

35559 Me again. :) I noticed that Stillmeadow Daybook is listed as goalless on the Praetorian spread sheet. I thought it got used for "pet name starts with Q"? If not, it will work for lots of other goals, so I'll add more info. I didn't bother because I thought it was going to be used for Q. Thanks!

35559 I'm reading "extremely religious" and "starts with E", if someone wants to add them to the above list. :) Both are Spartacus goals.

Team Maximus:
Journey of Hope, 228 pages. Based on real diaries, the heroine is a missionary to cannibals in 1920's Liberia. I think that's counts as religious.
Enchanting Samantha, 185 pages. Starts with E.

35559 Greetings, everybody. You all made great progress on goals while I slept. :) I'm plugging away on "The Hermit..." when I can. I can also read "Extremely religious character" and "book starting with E", if those are still needing to be read.

That gives me a regular book, an e-book and an audio book. I like to have my options. lol

35559 Welcome back, Carmen. :)

35559 Team Maximus:

OK, I've finished some books.

Little Matchmakers, 224 pages, has MC named Garnet, for "garnet" in text or title.

Mystery Man, 528 pages, has "Man" in title.

Generous Justice: How God's Grace Makes Us Just, 256 pages, has "spiritual/spirituality" as a genre.

And this one doesn't fit a current goal, I don't think:
Died in the Wool 251 pp; by Ngaio Marsh; letters in title=13; page #s=8; first pub 1945; #Chap. 11 & Prologue & Epilogue; Purple, sheep on cover; genre mystery, crime, detective, historical, thriller; Char. names Arthur, Cliff, Douglas, Fabian, Jack, Markins, Roderick, Sam, Terence, Percy, Ursula; Setting New Zealand; Series #13; Text starts with "I"; Author born in New Zealand; MC police detective, spies, 1 woman killed.

That's it for now. :) Happy reading everybody. I'll check in again in the morning.

35559 So, I looked at my copy of the book, and it clearly says "The Hermit..." So I'm back to reading it, and I'm fixing the GR record. :)

No problem. :) There was a lot going on.

Well, pook. I thought it was "The Hermit..." That what I always call it. Sorry. :)

35559 I looked at the Arm Yourselves, spread sheet, and I'm a little puzzled. It appears to me that the cover pictures aren't all posted. I know I read and reported a sword on the cover of Bayou Moon (The Edge, #2) by Ilona Andrews .

I didn't see in the explanation that your original group can't duplicate weapons. Did I miss that? Or am I misunderstanding it some other way - which is possible as I find that challenge a bit confusing. :)

35559 I can read Hermit of Eyton Forest, 224 pages, for the goal "The Hermit" in the title." But it will take me a few days - probably four. So if someone else can get it sooner, that's great. :)

35559 Team Maximus:

I've finished Home Sweet Texas, 247 pages. Obviously it works for "name of state in title" but it also has "sapphire-and-amethyst clips that had belonged to her grandmother", so it will work for that goal, too. Whichever the person who posts it wants to use it for. :)
Sep 14, 2015 10:05AM

35559 Yes. Thanks to all our Captains, who spend a lot of time updating goals and seeking out information when they could be reading or doing other things. You are all really on the ball! :)

35559 Team Maximus:

I've been reading Mystery Man, 528 pages, every evening and will finish it tonight. So you can put me down for the goal title includes word man, if no one gets there first. There's no sense someone else starting a book for that goal when I'm so close to done.
