Aargh! Those pet name goals are getting ridiculous. :)

35559 Team Maximus:

I've finished Stillmeadow Daybook, 274 pages, for pet name starts with Q. They have dogs named Quicksilver and Queen Maeve.

ETA - I'm almost done with "spiritual", but it's an actual book so I can't read it at night when my eyes are tired. With e-books I can blow up the print. :) I've started a "book with the name of a state in it", too.

35559 Team Maximus:

I needed a book to read on my kindle, so I've finished One Less Lonely Cowboy 224 pp; by Kathleen Eagle; letters in title=19; page #s=8; first pub Feb. 19, 2013; #Chap. 10; Man & woman on cover; genre Western, romance; Char. names Iris, Jack, Lily, Mike; Setting Missouri, US; Pets Hoppsie, Poppsie, Old Dancer, Rusty, Bunny, Juniper; Text starts with "Iris"; MC's are teacher, cowboy.

(Doesn't have "asparagus" or "chow down" in it.)

35559 Team Maximus-

The Praetorian spreadsheet has me reading Wizard of Oz twice. Am I doing something that's making it harder for the mods to keep track of my books? Let me know, please.

ETA - The correct listing is the one that shows I've finished it.

35559 Team Maximus:

I've finished Only by Chance 192 pp; by Betty Neels; letters in title=12; page #s=12; first pub Dec. 1, 1996; #Chap. 9; blue, lake, boat on cover; genre romance; Char. names Henrietta, Adam, David; Setting England; pets Oliver Twist, Watson, Dickens; text starts with "It"; orphan, Occupational Therapist; food= cabbage, rhubarb, parsley; trip to ocean/beach.

I'll point out that it has that tricky pet name beginning with "O".

Do you want me to go back and post all the other info for the Wizard of Oz, too, then?
Sep 13, 2015 09:06AM

35559 Stillmeadow Daybook, 274 pages, is full of dogs. Their names start with Q, E, T and lots of other letters. :) I'll post the names when I finish it and we can use whichever one we need at the moment.

Thanks! It will really help to be able to look for everything in one place. :)

I don't see a Praetorian spread sheet, where we could see all the current goals together.

Not that it matters that much, things are changing that fast. But I'd rather at least attempt to fit my books to goals. :)

I think I can read for "pet name starts with Q". Let me spend a few minutes checking...

35559 OK, now I'm really feeling lost. :)

Where do we look for the latest goals?

I've finished The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, 267 pages. It has over 40,000 words. Pet name starts with T - Toto.

I've started Generous Justice: How God's Grace Makes Us Just, 256 pages, for spiritual genre. It's actually "spirituality", but I assume that will work.
Sep 12, 2015 09:05PM

35559 Joy in the Morning, which I just finished, has a pond on the cover, if you need it. (It's on the Maximus spread sheet twice.)

I've finished Bayou Moon, 447 pages, for pet name starts with N. The name is Nellie. It also has a sword on the cover. It contains the words bow, castle, club and crossbow. Do you need the locations of the words?

I've also finished Joy in the Morning which I've already reported on. I'll add that it has a blue and green cover and orange letters. First word "After". No goals, I don't think.

35559 Is my Heidelberg Wedding still open? Because she's a nurse who goes to Portugal and then Germany for her new job. :)

And put me down for "pet name starts with N". I'll read Bayou Moon. It's been a long time since I read it.

35559 I've finished The Resurrection Man for the phrase "Whole nine yards". "Long legs, long sleeves, the whole nine yards." location 4136.

ETA I'm ready to start Only by Chance for another challenge, and it's first pub date is December, 1996. For whoever finishes first. :)

I've never actually read the book, but I think I have it here somewhere, one of the books my dad told me to take because he wasn't going to reread it.

I haven't read the book in many decades, so I thought it would be fun to revisit it. The audio version is narrated by Anne Hathaway, and she's doing a good job.

We used to watch the movie on TV when I was little and the flying monkeys scared me so much I had to cover my eyes. :)

Sep 12, 2015 10:36AM

35559 I need a new audio to listen to while I clean house and The Wonderful Wizard of Oz has 40508 words. So you can put me down for pet name starts with T for Toto.

ETA - Yes, the HP books are really useful for this challenge. Guaranteed to be used somewhere. :)

It always seems the book we need isn't up next in the series. Or else it's checked out. :(

35559 Cool. It's my favorite of that series. :) But I can't keep up with what happens to them after I read them. lol
