Now reading the spin off cyborg series Cyborg Space Exploration."That looks like great guilty pleasure reading. I'm going to put that on my TBR once I've finish my favourite space smut series, Brides of the Kindred. Thanks for the rec.

I have a Kindle Oasis.. which is fine but to be honest I preferred my original keyboard 2.

I’m just about to start a reread of High Voltage in preparation. This is just about my favourite series EVER so it’s bittersweet it’s coming to an end.

Great going LAB. It's fun searching for books and even greater when you score a great deal. Enjoy.

Wait.. Happy Book Worm .. has Karen M Moning stopped writing altogether. I just thought with the last Fever book coming out she had finished that particular series. Not stopped writing altogether. That would be very sad indeed.
Thank goodness J R Ward has no intentions to finish writing in the foreseeable future. Well good for me anyhow, LOL.

That's good that she at least let her readers know what is going on. It's very professional and considerate for the people who love reading her books. I'm sure everyone would wish her well.

I hope you're son gets a good report in his check up, TINNGG.

I agree LAB. I hate it when a series isn't finished off. I wonder if the reason for this is the shake up in publishing. If books don't sell, publishers seem pretty ruthless about cutting authors regardless of whether they have completed a series. Quite a lot of authors seem to move especially in the paranormal genre to self publishing. And without the structure and time constraits I wonder if they just drift.

(view spoiler)[ I was really surprised as well. I was sure she was setting Luchas up for a glorious redemption especially as you mentioned she kept going back to him in quite a lot of ongoing books.
Maybe he was kept there because of being found in that barrel by Lash the BDB weren't quite sure if that had tainted him and it was a security issue. Or maybe he was depressed and it was his choice to be away from everyone. That would tie in with his eventual end.
Why JR strung him along to have that end? She must have changed her mind as to the overall story arc maybe. Or as you said couldn't come up with a story which seems a bit weak really. Maybe she wants to venture off into the segue stories such as The Wolfen or the Prison Camp? And just wasn't in to creating a story for him?
Anyways I thought Warm Heart in Winter took a while to get where it needed to be. But by the end it did work for me in regards to a completion for the Qhuinn story, he had his mating and some feeling of closure with his family story. And I liked how Lassiter decreed that he was killed by the snow bypassing the whole religious suicide issue. JR is a bit uneven with her world building sometimes but doesn't worry me too much, I just go with it because I enjoy the overall story telling. (hide spoiler)] And I still haven't got to The Jackal yet!

I did round up to 4* because the book made me cry..."Lab, I read it before Christmas. I can't recall the answer to your question. I was at first surprised at what played out with Luchas as I was sure he was being prepared for a book. But thinking it through it did make sense and gave some nice closure for Qhuinn.
What were your issues? You've intrigued me now..

Oh me too Doug. I just laughed when I got that email. Is there some hope she may write it or Amazon would surely refund us?

Kristi, Thank Goodness you had a mild case and were able to stop your husband getting it. Even though our cases are much less, Sydney is having an outbreak at the moment which is concerning. Can't wait for the vaccines to be available here but not coming till March and then only for front line workers and elderly people. It will probably be the middle of the year for me.
Vanessa, I've starting watching Bridgerton and enjoying it. But when I watch these TV adaptations of beloved books I put them in different baskets because they're always different. Look at Virgin River. I was a bit unsure about the casting in Bridgerton.... like it or not Regency England was English Aristocracy who were white. But I'm embracing the inclusiveness of the cast, the guy who plays Simon is so attractive, LOL. I'm only up to episode 2 so far but enjoying it. I'm happy that historical romances are making it to the small screen.

Merry Christmas all. 🎄🤶
Hope you all get plenty of📚.
Bring on 2021!
Vanessa wrote: "Thanks LAB for "The Other's" info. I was really starting to think that she was going to abandon that series for her other dark series. Everything that I read and see "discounted" on various sites h..."Vanessa, I just finished the novella. It took a bit of a round about way to get where it was going and something happened that I didn't expect (we can talk further when you finished) but I felt pretty happy by the end. I still have to read The Jackal though.

Just finished
. I guess none of you are surprised I rated it .. 4.5 stars. Still love the BDB.

Talking about historical romance, I'm looking forward to Shondaland's Bridgerton series based on the Julia Quinn series which is on Netflix on Christmas Day. It's been a while since I've read the books so I'll just enjoy it as a bonnet drama. I don't get too bent out of shape if the TV series isn't exactly the same as the books.
