222868 Frisco, my husband has had Subarus for the last ten years. He loves them and nothing has ever gone wrong with them. I had Fords for years... but changed to a Mazda last time. Excellent car, no issues except I had to replace two fuel injectors recently but had done over 120,000 kms so that was ok. Nothing worse than having an unreliable car.

Still not reading paranormal.. but I have The Viper up next which I know I'll enjoy.

Sounds Lovely. 😍 Good luck with your planning.

I know what you mean about solo female travelling. My bestie and I are finally going on our Athens- Dubai cruise in November that we had booked and cancelled three years ago. So we're going to see Pyramids!! and Jerusalem and Petra.... but definitely in a group travel situation. It's so great being able to travel again.

Great feedback Vanessa. It's still on my pile.. I'll get to it soon.

222868 Congratulations Kristi and BJ on your retirements.

Kristi, make sure you go for a swim in The Blue Lagoon. It's a bucket list activity for sure. My daughter and I were lucky to go on a cold, drizzly day and there were only about 10 people in the whole lagoon. It's magical. Like a warm bath. And then a nice hot shower after and a snack.

I think it is Diane. Unless your wifi is turned off when you finish. I'm the opposite I like to update myself and add my shelves.

Does anyone know.. when they do a software update is there anywhere you can check to see what's changed and how to navigate it?

Wait.. you can filter books just to show what's on your kindle? Thanks Diane, I'm going to have a play around and see if I can do this as well. That's what I've been trying to do. I'm all for fixing bugs and getting technology to function better but sometimes I think some of these updates are completely unnecessary. "If it's not baroque, why fix it" 🤣

Yes, I think this is what is happening. The picture remains on the kindle but you have to actually download it again to read. I'm not a fan, once I've finished reading I like to send back to the cloud entirely. So it looks I am getting through my Mt TBR, not having all the books I've purchased showing on my kindle, downloaded or not.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone,

Thanks BJ. I went and tried that and, the delete option came up, and then went into my account and says its not on the device. But the picture of the book is still on the kindle. Then I turned it off and on.. and the book picture is still there. Something strange is going on...( scratching head.)

222868 OMG, LAB... I'm so pleased everything is okay. Sometimes luck is just on your side.

Re Kindles.. I used to be able to send my read books back to the cloud without them being totally deleted. But suddenly I can't seem to do this. If I delete its permanently deleted and I have to buy again. I don't want a million books on my kindle but If I've bought them I should be able to keep them.. somewhere. Has something changed, can anyone walk though how I just send them back to the cloud with permanent deletion?

222868 After reading my way through Veronica Speedwell and enjoying it immensely I have backtracked to Lady Julia and the very appealing Nicholas Brisbane! I think I remember a few on here being fans of this earlier series. Silent in the Grave (Lady Julia Grey, #1) by Deanna Raybourn

No cliffhanger, the murder mystery was resolved but as it is a trilogy how she time traveled and how to get back is still on going. Nice dynamic with the hero, who is part Indian part Scottish. The dilemma is if they do have a relationship (at the moment they are work colleagues) what happens if she finds the way to go back... I enjoyed it.

A Twist in Time This is a similar themed series... but I enjoy Kelley Armstrong's writing more.

I'll have to get back to this series. I just read her A Rip Through Time (A Rip Through Time, #1) by Kelley Armstrong which I really enjoyed.

I was only there for 3 days, had to jam it in after a cruise before I went back home. It was amazing, I'm hoping to get back there again one day. We stayed in Reykjavik, walked all around it, did the Blue Lagoon and the Golden Circle and saw Gulfoss and the original Geyser. All must dos. But there is heaps more there if you have time, I always find the Lonely Planet books good background reading. I'm a big planer though because I don't like missing out on stuff. For me the planning is half the fun, LOL.
