Thanks. It is published here in May so I've put in an order request through the library. 🤞

That sounds really good. Is it an ARC?

So glad it's going well for you. 😊

I love used books shops, unfortunately a lot have closed down around our area. One of the downsides of ebooks I'm guessing. But I now have gone back to the library, the home of old books, LOL. Our local library has the most borrowing per capita in the state. I'm sure I more than contribute to the stats!

222868 Happy New Year. Hope it is a good one for us all, lots of books and possibly travel and less of the pandemic that shall not be named.. any variant.

I've read that book too.. I think it is by either Caroline Linden or Lorraine Heath.

I do like that series, I'm about half way through I'll have to get back to it.

Talking about historical romance, I just finished Sarah MacLean's latest Bombshell (Hell's Belles, #1) by Sarah MacLean . It's the first in a new series but tied to the others and it's the last Talbot sister finally getting her HEA with the American Caleb Calhoun.. but there is a twist. Leave everything you've learnt about the early Victorian period at the door when you read this one, it's very unlikely and written with 21st century sensibilities BUT it is a lot of fun. I thoroughly enjoyed it more than I did the last series of hers. 4 stars

222868 I've got Archangel's Light to read this week. I'm guessing I'll be doing quite a lot of skimming. Just as well this series is almost done.. because I'm pretty sure I am. Such a shame as it was great back in the day.

Who picks these things?"

That's what I was thinking. Are we over the hill or what! There was only maybe two books I'd read and only one I voted for in Historical Fiction.

I just saw this morning that The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab is going to be made into a feature film. That was one of the best books I'd read in ages, hope they do a good job and cast it well.

222868 Yep.. that's it for me and Maya Banks. I'm cancelling my order. I doubt she will ever finish this series now.

222868 Congratulations Melindeeloo! Enjoy that retirement. Think of all the reading and travelling time you'll have, woo hoo.

My big news of the day is our oldest son and his wife are having their 6th child next April, so Grandparents VI! We knew it was a bit of a hint when they traded in their SUV for an 8 seater last month, LOL. Seriously though, we're thrilled.

222868 Yes, Lulu, Layla had twins. And now it is a completely modern family, the two gay Dads, Blay and Qhuinn and Layla and Xcor raising them altogether, vampire style. And not a custody battle in sight!

Just finished Lover Unveiled and yes still loving the BDB.

222868 Have to pop in here.... I agree Phury's book was a mess but I am currently reading the latest book in the BDB proper Lover Unveiled and am enjoying it just as much as some of the earlier ones. The pinnacle though was Book 3 Lover Awakened (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #3) by J.R. Ward , Zsadist's book. The current arc is melding her Fallen Angels series with the BDB and I'm loving it.

222868 Thanks for the heads up DP... I'll still be reading but wow no hot scenes... it will be a let down. But also TBH I've moved on from Nalini Singh and her metaphors a while ago. I've stopped reading Psy Changelings (which I also adored early on) and as there is only one more book left in Guild Hunters I'll finish up with that.

I'll be reading it when it arrives in the post shortly. I do read MM, but I have my reservations about it suddenly appearing in this series and between these characters seemingly out of the blue. I'll check back in with my thoughts later. It's been a controversial pairing for sure.

Sorry, no interventation coming from me. While home on lockdown (which is happily ending next week as our State reaches 70% vaccination woo hoo! and the International Borders finally opening at 80% in a fortnight) I have been going through my paper books I haven't read. And being ruthless culling the ones I'll probably never read to send to Goodwill. The ones on my kindle I don't have to look at and if I can't see them, they're not there.. right!

Pretty sure I'll die before I read all the books I've got.. but that's okay.

For sure, one of my bug bears with self publishing is the lack of editing. The partnership of author/editor is so important, a skilful editor can really polish up and refine turning a good book into a great one.
