222868 If you want something a bit more than paranormal romance this is a great series. Empire of the Vampire (Empire of the Vampire, #1) by Jay Kristoff . Book 2 is just being released now. Empire of the Damned (Empire of the Vampire, #2) by Jay Kristoff

I think Kresley Cole is bringing out a new one in the series mid next year. The Witch Queen of Halloween (Immortals After Dark, #18.5) by Kresley Cole

LAB, I wish we lived on the same continent. I've been culling my books but want to give them to a good home. The best ones are donated to our local library. So happy for you that your bookstore is going so well.

222868 TINNGG, I am so very sorry for your loss. So sad.

My next up paranormal read is Darius (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #0) by J.R. Ward . This first came out only in audio so I've been waiting quite a while for it to be released in kindle/print.

222868 I've been reading A Darker Shade of Magic (Shades of Magic, #1) by V.E. Schwab . The world building with the four different Londons in different dimensions is really imaginative. I quite like this author, I really loved The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab

Have a lovely retirement, BJ. I'm sure your reading vibe will return, probably too many new things to see and do in your retirement life at the moment.

Not sure when we'll retire.. probably never. We do have our oldest son and DIL in our family business now.. we'll probably just fade off into the sunset some time, LOL.

I'm not reading much paranormal any more.. my latest obsession is the Cormoran Strike books, and then watch the series on TV. JK Rowling can certainly write a good tale even under a pseudonym. (Robert Galbraith)

Vanessa, I finished Forever. I really like how it is interconnected with the BDB. And yes cliffhangers... I'm thinking that (view spoiler)

222868 Oh no Kristi, the call/email everyone always dreads when you're away. Wishing you and your husband all the best.

I'm a big JR Ward fan.. but I have no thought of reading her YA novel. Just doesn't appeal to me. Next up I have Forever (Lair of the Wolven, #2) by J.R. Ward and then Lassiter (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #21) by J.R. Ward which I've got on my Kindle and I've been saving for a long plane flight coming up.

222868 The question of Queen Charlotte's ancestry is interesting. One account I read put forward the theory that her 13th great grandmother could have been a Moorish concubine that the King married. Back in the 14th century I think. So yes, the evidence is pretty thin on the ground. I'll watch the show probably but just as a fictional story as any historical romance is.

I totally agree! Why do they continually have to play around with the format. And I hate the way you have to go hunting around to find information and tags now. (Shaking head... )

I just finished reading this and really enjoyed it. A bit of a departure from Deanna Raybourn's historicals but it just shows a good writer can turn their hand to anything.

Have an awesome time.. looking forward to some amazing pictures. Sometimes the organised tour works better... I did Greece to Dubai, including Israel, Egypt and Jordan late last year.. and so glad we were in a tour. Especially in Egypt.. pyramids and Valley of the Kings breathtaking, going through the numerous check points and airport security not so much.
