Finally! I've pre-ordered.. hope it's not going to be another Maya Banks. That holds the all time record of waiting on a pre-order!

Thanks Lulu.

222868 I remember my late MIL who was widowed very young in her fifties telling me a story about how she was propositioned by a family friend at her husband's funeral! Apparently the friend made it clear that although he was sorry for her loss he was available. He was a widower at the time.

PS My MIL never took him up on his invitation. But they did remain friends for years as they moved in the same circles. When she died last year he sent us a lovely note telling us how he'd always admired her.

222868 So sorry for your loss, TINNGG. Must have been a horrible shock for your family in such circumstances.

222868 This is the thing about technology, Frisco.. great when it works not so much when it doesn't. I still wonder if someday now that the whole world runs on digital that there isn't going to be some sort of Kate Daniels event which wipes everything out and puts everything back fifty years. Mightn't be a bad thing in some cases, LOL. More and more I have gone back to paper books, just prefer them.

222868 When do you become officially old enough to join the "old as dirt club", LOL, I think I am definitely heading in that direction.

I'm reading Claimed (Lair of the Wolven, #1) by J.R. Ward and you'll be shocked to know that I am finding it a bit slow in the first half but I have confidence that I'll love it by the end.

Then I've got a Bec McMaster after that, Master of Storms (Legends of the Storm, #5) by Bec McMaster . Enjoy the Icelandic mythology in this series a new take on dragons.

222868 Last season of Lucifer this weekend. It's so silly.. but enjoyable just what we need at the moment with lockdowns continuing here.

I've still got book 1 somewhere on my TBR. I'll dig it out and get to it soon.

Sorry, I'll pop in here.. I didn't get that sense really when I was reading. Though I suppose breaking into a prison camp to save your sister who has been down there for fifty years may qualify for that category, LOL. I've seen other reviews pointing out a lot of plot holes which is also a fair cop, but I just enjoy reading for the characters and the overall BDB world. At this time when we're in lockdown I just love immersing myself in a world which is comforting and go with it.

What did you think, Vanessa? I reckon Lucan's story will be epic.

222868 I finally finished The Jackal (Black Dagger Brotherhood Prison Camp, #1) by J.R. Ward . I guess you guys won't be surprised that I gave it 5 stars. 😁 Love this series and (view spoiler)

I got that in the mail yesterday. Looking forward to reading it, with our extended lockdown and increasing cases of the Delta variant definitely need some happily ever after, steamy historical romance. 😘

I've finished it. What an ending to an amazing series. But to be honest it wasn't the best book in the series and parts seemed a bit rushed to fit it all in. I actually enjoyed the previous book High Voltage better. But hey, the complete series is in my Top 3 of series read ever. Though sad to say goodbye to these characters I'm glad she finished it on a high.

Hope you do, Lulu. I'm sure you've got Uluru on your list. I enjoyed it heaps when I visited last month. So many different things to see here and NZ, but long distances between so you'd need quite a few weeks to do both. But dreaming and planning is half the fun.

222868 So fantastic LAB. When (I'm saying when, not if, thinking positive LOL) I ever travel back to the USA I'd love to look you up and visit your bookshop. I enjoyed my visit to New England in 2018 and still have to get my trip to New Orleans in one day.

Wishing you all the best in your new venture.

222868 Yes, congratulations to Melindeeloo and all you retiring people. Mel, it is a good feeling when your kids become self sufficient. It will be a long time if ever that hubby and I will retire although our son is doing the daily management of our family business now.

We're in lockdown here, I've got my first jab on Tuesday. Never thought I'd be so happy to have a vaccination that's for sure.

Finished the Veronica Speedwell. An Unexpected Peril (Veronica Speedwell, #6) by Deanna Raybourn Really enjoy the series, I think there are two more books to go. It's going to be interesting how it is finished up as Veronica is fiercely opposed to the usual requirements for the HEA, marriage and babies. I'm hoping Veronica and Stoker just sail off into the sunset together, literally.

222868 Hi Vanessa.. I LOVE Downton Abbey. I was so lucky to visit there in 2019, (HIghclere Castle) we spent the whole day there viewed the house and had afternoon tea . Lovely memories especially as that was my last big trip overseas before the pandemic.

I just watch Virgin River as a separate thing as well.

I'm reading the latest Veronica Speedwell, An Unexpected Peril (Veronica Speedwell, #6) by Deanna Raybourn . Really enjoy this series. And Stoker. 💖

222868 Off reading topic to TV. What's everyone watching? I caught up with Lucifer last night, it's so cheesy but I love it. Especially the musical episode. Who knew that Tom Ellis could actually sing! And it's been renewed for a final series 6. Woo Hoo. I've also been watching Virgin River. It's very different from the book, nowhere as good but still watchable. And our Ash Barty won Wimbledon and Dylan Alcott the quad Wimbledon so pretty chuffed about that.

I love how we have different reactions to books. I loved the ending of Addie La Rue in fact the whole book. But it would be a boring world if we all thought the same, LOL.

222868 Enjoy Carol. I just came back from my Central Australia trip, so lucky to have got there and back as Sydney is in the grip of another two week lockdown.
