222868 We just redid our floors with Engineered Timber in Blackbutt. You can sand it back twice apparently and is has a guaranteed life of 25 years in household use. We're hard on floors... so will see how it holds up.

On the book front I'm reading this - Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia . It's a buddy read and I have no idea what it is about but it seems to being read in quite a lot of Goodreads Groups at the moment.

That sounds good and somehow appropriate for the times... I'm going to see if my library has it. Thanks for the review.

222868 OOh Vanessa, so jealous you have finished The Jackal.

I haven't got my copy yet, had to cancel my bookdepository.UK order as they are having problems with supply and delivering to Australia. I'm down at our farm at the moment so will pick a copy up when I get back to town next week. Yes, I think she is introducing The Wolfen isn't she?

222868 Ahhhhh, TINNGG, I'm eagerly awaiting my copy of The Jackal (Black Dagger Brotherhood Prison Camp, #1; Black Dagger Legacy, #5) by J.R. Ward in the mail. It's going off in a bit of a tangent from the series proper with the race's prison camp.. but I'm diving straight down that rabbit hole, LOL.

That's because it has been Lulu, LOL.

I have a love/hate relationship with this series. I'm holding out that the last book if we ever get it and I haven't dropped off the perch will be love.

Yeah, me too. But I bet the moment I cancel it will be published so I'll hang on.

Douglas, you know we're getting old when you mention "throw out 100 pages of useless sex". I sooo know what you mean, LOL.

That is cool Vanessa. I remember them mentioning that fact throughout the books.

Ooh, can't wait to see what you think. I probably won't be reading, I think that ship has sailed but if it gets a few good reports.. maybe I'll cave.

222868 Happy birthday Vanessa, hope you had a great day.

My lovely MIL has passed away at the great age of 90 years 11 months and 4 days. It was expected but still feels like a big hole in our family. And arranging a fitting send off in the time of covid is a nightmare. Regulations in our state are 30 people in the church and 20 at any indoor event. Impossible so looks like we will have to have only immediate family and hold a celebration of her life later when hopefully this awful pandemic is a memory.

222868 Sadly, I'm behind in the Psy Changlings as well. To heavy going on the metaphors, hyperbole and adjectives for me and not enough ongoing storyline. I may pick it up again, I haven't completely given up but wait till each book comes out in MMPB.

I'm still reading the Archangels though. I seem to be able to handle her writing style better in this series and they are first released in MMPB as well. Amazing how reading tastes change, I loved the series up to Hawke's book.

222868 I love that you guys are so proactive with your solar chargers. But what happens if you can't access your library, if the unthinkable happens and Amazon drops off the planet...Would you only be able to access what was actually on your kindle at the time? Although if Amazon stopped the World probably would be about to end, LOL.

That's great, LAB. I love having my "real" book library.... except like now, we are getting new flooring and long overdue painting through our house. We have full bookcases in every room so over the next few weeks I'll be putting books in boxes... sigh. Good chance for a bit of audit I'm thinking, sending some of them to a new home at the Goodwill.

222868 I hear ya about the covid stupidity and although we are doing well in comparison Australia is not immune. There is a significant outbreak in Melbourne where testing is intense and 10,000 refused to be tested. For goodness sake, why not? Apparently there was a group that believed that there is no such thing and it is a conspiracy and another that said it just didn't affect them. And then another spread was security guards getting busy with some of those in quarantine. Just wow.

Ohhhhh. I also miss the days of sitting on a cruise ship balcony reading with a drink in hand and watching the world go by. Sigh. Probably won't be till 2022 for me now. Qantas have shelved all their long haul planes till July 2021 at the earliest..so that tells us something. So seeing we can't travel.. we're doing home maintenance. I've been putting off getting a new roof for five years and putting up with leaks and ceiling damage so now is the time! Not quite as exciting as an overseas trip however, LOL.

The BDB is probably the only series I read as soon as I get the book now. Oh... and also the Will Trent series by Karin Slaughter. And maybe if Diana Gabaldon ever finishes the next Outlander.. but I usually read that over a month as they're soooo long now. That's about it. Bit sad isn't it.
