222868 I'm up to Sebastian St Cyr 5. I'm loving it as well. What Remains of Heaven (Sebastian St. Cyr, #5) by C.S. Harris

222868 Vanessa, yes, I think the Psy Changlings are on the way out as well but I'm still hanging in there with Guild Hunters/Archangels. Over the last couple of years my tastes have changed maybe it's an aging thing but I'm reading a lot more widely and not as much romance driven or paranormal.

I just finished this one which was a five star read - November Road by Lou Berney . It's a character driven road trip book with lots of different threads but the background is the Kennedy Assassination/mob connection. One of those books you think about for days after reading it.

Okay Vanessa you asked.. (view spoiler)

Phury's book is probably the only BDB book that I didn't really like. I think I gave it 2 stars. I've really loved the rest of the series and the more that are released the more I love them. It's just the way she builds on the world I think. Every new book is a reconnection. I also really loved the Fallen Angels series so bringing them together is going to be great reading.

And yes DTB books, they now take up an entire shelf on my bookcase. I have them in our bedroom bookcase, hubby says they are too embarrassing (his words, not mine!) to be displayed in the lounge room bookcases, hee hee.

Lulu, As I remember, I really, really disliked Hancock's book and it nearly made me quit reading the series. The plotline was just bad and entirely unbelievable and the heroine a doormat! Only that I'd invested so much time in the series I've read on. It's very rare that I give up on series, only a handful over the years... The Dark series by Christine Feehan is one and LOTU is the other one. Probably just as well as Wherever You Are is the last book in the KGI series.

222868 I had the same reaction Douglas! WTF.... I mused for a minute about cancelling my order but isn't this book about Sean the cop and Rusty the adopted daughter. And the big finale for the series. I want to know how that pans out because they are always at each other's throats. Going to be explosive when they finally get together. So I guess I'll hang in there.

Oh yes, Vanessa. Lover Awakened is still my favourite book in the series as well. JR has said that Devina and Lassiter won't be a couple, she mentioned where it was going but I won't spoil it for you..

I've got Storm of Fury (Legends of the Storm, #4) by Bec McMaster in my upcoming TBR as well.

Vanessa, I'm sure after some near miss Blay and Qhuinn will have a lovely mating ceremony and live HEA!! After what it took to get them together no way would she break them up now or heaven forbid have one of them die. Listening to her Q & A a lot of readers really like all the details of the "weddings" so I think this is why she's doing it. Me not so much. I really like the Devina Vs Lassiter plot at the moment. Lately I need more than just romance and pages of smut. I think that's why I've gravitated to thrillers and suspense now.

222868 Vanessa, I just finished reading The Sinner (Black Dagger Brotherhood #19) by J.R. Ward . It started off a bit choppy as many of JR's books do... but that ending was absolutely awesome. (view spoiler) What a way to finish one arc and start another.

Yeah, I still love this series!

And I just finished the Westcott's first book and really enjoyed the old fashioned Regency feel. My library has all the series so I'm going to read on. I really like the story set up as well.

222868 Take double care of yourself, Paula. Never a good time to have pneumonia but especially not now.

Finally got my copy of The Sinner (Black Dagger Brotherhood #19) by J.R. Ward so I know what I'll being doing for the next couple of days.

222868 Thanks everyone for your lovely wishes.

Douglas, your grandson looks so cute, just a shame for all kids of this latest generation to be exposed to this pandemic. But I guess every generation has it's "thing" to get through. War, economic crisis or medical, it's all part of being human unfortunately.

This is a bit funny... You guys probably know I love travelling... a lot. I was supposed to be hoping on a plane to the UK on the 10th May for a trip to Cornwall and Wales, sigh.... But even before this pandemic I was always very careful with hygiene when travelling. I didn't go as far as wearing a mask but always used hand sanitiser A LOT, always getting it out before eating and after visiting historical places. And washing my hands when I returned to the accommodation like I was scrubbing in for surgery. It was a bit of a joke in my family about Mum and her "international germs". My oldest son said to me the other day, "Mum, you were just ahead of your time..." I have no idea how and when we are going to get back to "normal". I suspect as a lot of you have mentioned previously, it will never be quite the same again.

I saw him very briefly. It was a bit of organising because I looked after the other 4 kids solo for a week as my son and DIL had to go to Sydney for the delivery. I self isolated for two weeks in preparation.

A ray of light in the gloom for our family, our fifth grandchild was born last week. 9.5 lb and his name is Zachariah but already everyone is calling him Zac. A good hero's name I thought.

222868 Yes, Paula, I think we are fortunate in Australia . We have been of course affected and sadly more than 50 poor people lost their lives but we seem to be ahead of the rest of the world. That isn't the economic results though. I'm scheduling getting our roof repaired for early next month trying to give a young builder some work also.

Wow, it's so long since I read a IAD. I'm looking forward to it. Hot and Hotter are just what we need in these difficult times to take our minds off things.

222868 Hope you feel better soon Paula. Look after yourself.

I just found out our local library has a delivery service. You order online and they deliver the book/s to your front door for $2.50. I ordered this morning and voila.. my books were delivered by 3 pm. Something good while the world is crumbling around us.

Oh me too Paula. I'm still on the US site as well. I did a while ago check out the Aussie site and worked out the price difference back to AUD and it was virtually the same. But that might have changed now. I had started using the local library but that is shut now because of the pandemic. Luckily I have about 500 books unread at home and on my kindle.
