Half way through
.
I'm enjoying it, I haven't read Kelley Armstrong before. For some reason it kinda reminds of The Others series with its talk of feral humans turning to cannibalism. (I know, they are not really similar but for some reason my mind went there)

Finished
. Not her best novel but still very readable. 3.5 -4 stars
Feeling like something different and I know a lot of you enjoy this series...

Oooh, where did you go Lulu? Holiday/work/family??... hope you had a lovely time.
I'm not reading much at the moment, and hardly any PNR/UF. Pulled this one out of the pile yesterday..

It definitely would have benefited from an extra season Douglas.,

HOpe you got to enjoy it HBW.
AT last I feel satisfied. I thought they really pulled it all together in the last episode. ESpecially loved
(view spoiler)[ DRogon melting the Iron Throne and flying away with his Mistress. (hide spoiler)]

Douglas, I think the problem is that they've tried to fit too much into the six episodes, if they'd told the story at the same pace as the rest of the series it would have worked a lot better. There has been some amazing things but some storylines and character development hasn't rung true. The one I've really disliked is
(view spoiler)[ How they left Brienne of Tarth crying over Jaimie Lannister leaving her. It went against everything she was as a strong, independent woman making her way in a man's world. She should have punched him in the nose and said," I waited nearly 40 years to lose my virginity.. what a disappointment!" (hide spoiler)].
I'm holding my breath for an epic finish though.

Wow, Game of Thrones... I think I can work out the ending now. I can't wait till next week to see how close I get.

I've pre-ordered that one as well. Although the last couple were totally lame, the Hancock one made my blood boil but I'm going to finish the series. Has the author had health issues or real life problems? Or writer's block? The series started off strong and really deteriorated. The last book is Rusty and Sean, here's hoping their story rocks.

So what do we all think about GoT Episode 4?
I was tearing up in the first minutes and then was sooo happy... then so mad when
(view spoiler)[ Jaime left Brianne.. WTF. But I supposed it was always going to happen. He is going to meet his destiny with Cersei and will probably die in the process.. I loved Arya and the Hound going off together in "unfinished business". I wonder if they will tag team to take down the Mountain? And things don't look good for Dany. I'm wondering if no one will win the Iron Throne and Westoros becomes a democracy under the stewardship of Varys? It is GoT's so anything can happen. (hide spoiler)]

Woo-hoo! I just watched the first 3 this weekend. So awesome! Arya is a badass. I am curious, ..."I guess because with apparent "little" skills (no fighting or apparent intelligence and being a pawn of all those men organising her life) she has survived to be the Lady of Winterfell. Everyone underestimated her and she's still standing.
I went and saw Avengers: Endgame over the weekend and thought it was a really satisfying end to the series. Poignant that Stan Lee's last cameo was in the finale episode too!
Vanessa wrote: "Lisa... Are you caught up on GofT yet. All that I can say is WOW! (And Holy S*%!). Anyone one else have any opinions?"Yes, I was up till midnight last night catching up.
(view spoiler)[ I loved the second episode especially the part when Jaime knights Brienne. I've got a real thing for redeemed heroes and Jaime has really earned his redemption. As did Theon. And all the various characters coming to terms with the fact that they might die. So well written and the pacing of the episode was perfect. And how about Arya, I guess she has been training inadvertently all her life for that moment when she kills the Night King. It was such a confusing episode I wasn't sure who was left standing at the end but I guess that's an honest account of what battle really is.
I really don't know how it is all going to end. Part of me doesn't want a perfect Happy Ever After as it wouldn't fit what has happened on the show over the last 7 years. I'm wondering if Dany does become the ruler of the seven kingdoms but loses Jon in the process so it all becomes meaningless? Or maybe they all kill each other so there isn't a ruler at all? I haven't been doing much reading since I've been back from holidays but am making my way through this and enjoying it.
. I have been too engrossed in catching up with Game of Thrones. Anyone else...

Nora Roberts can be a bit hit or miss for me. I really enjoyed
.
I am slowly making my way through In Death, I'm at No 30. It's a good series to read a few then have a break and the format ( the same core characters that develop over many books with a "new" murder mystery each book) means you can pick it up easily.

Hi all,
Our cruise started in Lisbon, Portugal but we had a few days there wandering around by ourselves. Then the south of Spain and across to Sardinia and today we docked at the port of Livorno and went into Siena and San Gimignano, Tuuscany. It's beyond amazing. Now onto Monte Carlo and Marseille before finishing in Barcelona... and the 24 hour flight home. Unfortunately the weather hasn't been the best, I didn't know the Mediterranean Sea can be rough..

Regarding Levet I remember reading the novella and he was having a relationship with one of the Council guardians but it was more of a fling I think. I'm going to check out the re-boot, I did enjoy a lot of that series.

Hi everyone, Enjoying my cruise but the weather has been ROUGH. Two days we couldn't get into the port and had to go else where but seeing all sorts of interesting things regardless.
Vanessa, I finished
. It wasn't my favourite in the series but as you said at 17 books it is still going strong and I loved the bit about Devina escaping the Well of Shades. Can't wait for her to become the super villain seeing that the Omega is on the way out. It's a five star read for me just because its the BDB!!
Kristi (foxtail_too) wrote: "I'm reading the latest Veronica Speedwell. If certain things don't move along in the next book, I'm done."Kristi, I think the next book is the last one in the series so I'm pretty confident they will get together but as they are a most unconventional couple it was be interesting to see if they actually marry.

Hi everyone, I'm on holiday in Spain... and yesterday we were in Seville and got to see The Alcazar aka The Water Gardens of Dorne Home of the Red Viper and the Sand Snakes. I got so exited I nearly lost the tour group. Amazing stuff. Onto The Alhambra in Granada tomorrow.
I finished the latest Veronica Speedwell and am so ready for her and Stoker to be together! And making my was through The Savior.
So sorry to hear about your mother, Paula. We were caring for my MIL whilst she is having cancer treatment very difficult when she is almost 90. Hope they can make your Mum comfortable, having a loved one with dementia is such a difficult time. My MIL is stable for now and has returned home but it's tough.
LAB☺ wrote: "Vanessa wrote: "Lisa,,, I was wondering the same thing. I am around 1/2 way through Queen of Air and Darkness. I want to see this series end so this will probably be my last Clare novel. They're go..."I think we had similar thoughts on this one.
She is going back to a historical trilogy next time with the children of Will and Tessa I think so I'll probably give that one a try as I loved that series. But if she continues down the same path I'll think I'll call it quits as well.
I'm reading Veronica Speedwell 4. Really enjoying it but Veronica must have loins of steel to resist the delectable Stoker!
