222868 Vanessa, I'm going to try and get to it over Christmas break. I don't really read that much YA anymore other than Cassandra Clare although this new author Kerri Maniscalco does have potential. There are 2 more books published in the series and a final one out next September. I've got the Prince Dracula one up next.

222868 Lulu, I forgot to add. Cyclone season in Queensland (The Great Barrier Reef) is between October and April (basically the warmest months) and there is usually about 4-5 during that time. Like all the weather on the planet at the moment they seem to be getting more severe.

222868 This isn't paranormal, YA historical but I really enjoyed it. Stalking Jack the Ripper (Stalking Jack the Ripper #1) by Kerri Maniscalco . About a Victorian well brought up young lady, daughter of a Lord who prefers sewing up dead bodies than samplers.

Also, novice Australia tourism question: what month do you think best to plan a visit to Australia from a weather perspective? I'd..."

That's awesome, Lulu.

Mmmm, from a weather perspective. We have a temperate climate so really anytime is okay. Summers are really hot and dry great for swimming and boating and winter is cold but only snows in alpine areas. It can be a bit miserable though with rain and sleet especially in Melbourne. Spring (Sept-Dec) and Autumn (March-May) are usually in the range of warm days with nights a bit colder. We get a few storms in Spring time but nothing like the USA.

Hawaii is a good stopping point - we did that when we travelled to California with our kids years ago. 9- 10 hrs to Sydney from there.

222868 I'll be reading Queen of Air and Darkness (The Dark Artifices, #3) by Cassandra Clare .

I think I read somewhere that she is going back to the time period after the Infernal Devices to the new generation, Tess and Will's children. I loved that series.

222868 Good luck Vanessa. Those tricky letters never get any easier, LOL.

222868 I finished Archangel's Prophecy (Guild Hunter, #11) by Nalini Singh and apart from my pet niggle with the overblown language it was a pretty good read and worked for me as a reboot freshening up the series. I don't mind a good cliffhanger (know I'm in the minority, there LOL) . 4 stars

222868 Making my way through Archangel's Prophecy (Guild Hunter, #11) by Nalini Singh about half way through and so far so good. Although if there are any romantic metaphors that Nalini Singh hasn't used yet it's not obvious to me, LOL.

222868 I think that author won one of the Goodreads Awards. Maybe best debut novel or YA novel. Wow, she really is taking her live in her hands taking on a behemoth author like Nora.

Not yet, this series is an auto buy for me. I'll let you know what I think.

Happy Birthday Godfather Doug. Hope you enjoy your day.

222868 Yeah, Julia Quinn isn't known for her historical accuracy. More light weight romance that just happens to be in a historical setting. Saying that, I enjoy them under those parameters but I know it annoys quite a few readers.

222868 Hi Katlynn, hope you enjoy our Group.

Lulu, ..." I love what good people they are with good hearts and strong sword arms.." Well said! And isn't that with all what is happening in the real world at the moment why we all read and love romance.

222868 Vanessa, great news. And I bet he will be feeling a whole lot better with his new improved heart when he recovers more.

222868 Phew, I'm back to normal as well. I can still order new books via amazon.com.

This issue has highlighted to me though that if I really want to keep a book, I'll buy the paper copy.
Nov 12, 2018 10:41PM

222868 Yep, it's affecting me as well. You can't seem to buy anything new only past releases. What's really annoying for me is I have a balance on my gift card that I can't transfer across to amazon.com.au. So if I change I lose this.

If you changed once upon a time you couldn't access previously bought books in your library. That's why I didn't change. Not sure, but according to their blurb in "your account" all your library does transfer across now.

First the Amazon forums disappearing and now this. Not happy...

222868 Wow, I've got it on my TBR, I'm going to have to read it sooner than I'd scheduled. Thanks for the warning.
