I'm got Clash of Storms coming up to read also. Enjoying this series as well.

I am listening to Strange Practice It's very interesting. A different sort of take on a supernatural world. Van Helsing's daughter is a Doctor who takes care of sup..."Vinity I saw this recommended in another group and looks very interesting. I've added it to my TBR.

Apparently Deborah Harkness has another book coming out in the same world as A Discovery of Witches trilogy.
.
I liked the trilogy although by the third one there was a fair amount of padding and drawn out conclusion. But the world was interesting enough to pick this one up, it releases this week.

Definitely preaching to the choir here, Monadh! I love Susan Fanetti's work and have read everything she has written especially her MC and mafia books. The way she gets into her characters so you see more than the violence is amazing. If you like her I also recommend Lauren Gilley who also writes about similar subjects.

Vanessa, I am so excited about Cassie's book!! This has been nearly 20 years in the making, and I'm still sticking with Dog as her mate.
This is the original "guilty pleasures" series for me, I couldn't believe what I reading (regarding the smexy times!!) when I read the first one years ago, have long been corrupted since that day, LOL.

Maybe try Bec McMaster, sort of historical steampunk/paranormal but with a lot of romance and happily ever afters. Her London Steampunk series now has a spin off which I'm enjoying The Blue Blood Conspiracy.

Thanks Vanessa. I didn't realise the last book was out so soon. And I looked it up on Goodreads, then Cassandra Clare is starting a spin off from the Infernal Devices, the next generation set in 1903. I can't wait for that. The Clockwork Princess is my favourite YA book I've read. I love her writing she is the only YA author I read and keep up to date with now.

HBW, I just finished the first October Daye. I don't think I'll continue on with the series, some of the ones that I'm already following like Alex Craft or Charley Davidson series I enjoy better.

I read the first one and thought it felt like a bunch of notes tacked together. I..."I've read up to about No 8. They are a bit of fun but are all pretty similar. Good for a light read, I do like the idea though.

Christine Feehan was one of my gateway authors of PNR and I lasted up to Skylar and Dimitri's book in the Dark Series so I'll always have a soft spot for that series .
I followed Magic Triumphs with one of Karin Slaughter's thrillers in her Will Trent series which was fantastic. Highly recommend it and although it is a crime/thriller it is in her story and character development that she shines.
And... I'm a grandma again. Archer Adam born last night, 8 lbs. No 4 in just under 5 years, I think my son needs to tie a sock in it, LOL. They'll be busy, but wonderful.

Vanessa, so sorry about your grandmother, what an amazing long life and so many memories for you to treasure, I hope she continues to be pain free.

I like them both but Lorraine Heath does a particularly good mix of the common hero/aristocratic heroine or vice versa. Julia Quinn is more bubble and froth banter.

I agree, the last two books of The Bridgertons weren't as good, 3 star reads for me. But some of the earlier ones especially with "Lady Whistledown" were very amusing.

LAB, I have the feeling that the PNR/UF genre is on the decline. There was an article I just read that indicated that crime fiction is the current favourite. I guess us here on this thread will always read the genre, although I must confess these days I also read a lot of romantic suspense/thrillers.

Elizabeth, you really if you can get it read Iron and Magic. It is really good and sets up how Hugh turns up on the goodies side in Magic Triumphs.

I LOVED the ending of High Voltage... although it did take her a while to get there.
Oh well, at least J R Ward and Karen M Moning will always have me faithfully reading them, LOL.

I really thought it was a great wrap for the series. That Roland was contained... and Kate didn't have to kill her father. And they left it complete..but with plenty of material for hopefully more spin offs.
Totally agree Douglas, how imaginative some people are... Unfortunately not me either but I love to read what they come up with.

Soooooo.. what are we all expecting. Roland to get his ar** kicked by Kate, Curran, Hugh and crew or a touchy/feeling intervention and happy families! I'm hoping... the first.
