Read my first Neil Gaiman book this week.
. It was so imaginative and descriptive, really enjoyed it for something different. Think I'll check out some of his other later books.

Foxtail, sorry to hear that your husband is not well but glad he is doing okay.
I'm reading this -
- can't believe I'm still reading this series at book 21.6! But they are quick, light and don't take themselves too seriously so great between darker and longer reads.

Hello Stranger is a feel good comfort read.

Haha, I've only ever known very nice "Vanessas" present company included.
I just finished as part of a BOM in another group
. As you guys know, I'm all for the dark and angsty.... but this was just depressing. All the characters were filled with self doubt or just down right mean. Explanation give the Fae aren't very nice. Although apparently the series does improve. Not sure I am going to continue though.

Maybe that will finish Kate and Curran's story arc but lead the way into other possibilities for further stories in this world. ie Julie and Derek's story, more on the Iron Dogs etc. After taking such time with the world building and with such a following I'm sure most readers would be delighted if they continued on with it in some way, shape or form.

Just finished and enjoyed it immensely. They did a great job giving some perspective of Hugh's time literally under Roland's spell without completely neutering him as a bad boy character. And only a woman as powerful as Elara would have been able to give as good as she got with someone like Hugh. The banter between them was great. Lots of great lines we've come to expect with the Andrews writing team.
LAB, I see your point about why Nez wanted the castle, that was a bit of plot weakness especially because if Elara let it rip she could destroy just about anyone. But it was such a great story, I'm going to let that slide...
Can't wait for Magic Triumphs now and for the Daniels team including their new allies to kick Roland's immortal a**.

I'm up to chapter 5 and I must say I'm really enjoying it. The prologue gave us a hint of where the book was heading, it showed why Hugh was so loyal to Roland. Not excusing it but explaining it somehow.
And I never hated Hugh I always thought he was a great character even though he was a Bast***. But an amusing and witty one and was great contrast and foil for Kate and Curran. I'm enjoying the banter between Hugh and Elara. No doubt the sexual tension will slowly grow between them and then wham, they'll realise there is something between them. She is more than a match for Hugh and she is holding something big back at this point in the book.

Thanks Mel. Good thinking.

Spoilers please if you talk about Iron and Magic. I'm starting it later today.

My
Iron and Magic just downloaded. Hope to get to it tomorrow.
I'm reading Lauren Gilley's
Red Rooster. It's the second book in her Sons of Rome series. The first one had a lot of set up, ( It's a vampires/werewolves tale based on Dracula/Russian history universe) but this one is living up to the promise of a good story. Lauren Gilley (her previous series was an OMC and really good) is great writing relationships and now she's got the world building in place she is settling in to what she writes best.

Looking forward to reading
Iron and Magic as well. Always had a soft spot for very bad boy Hugh, I'm interested to see what the Andrews do with his character and how much they redeem him.

I loved this book! Such a fun read."Another fan. This is one of my favourite historical romances I've read in the last five years. The banter between Minerva and Colin is priceless.

Waiting for Ocean Light in paperback. End of the year for me.

Reading
. Love Stoker and Veronica and all the witty banter.

Greeting from Macau, SAR, China.
Not much time for reading (too much sightseeing and eating, LOL) but have been reading this by Lisa KLeypas.
. Enjoying it.

Wow, can't believe how many of us have someone with Autism in our family. Although since my son was diagnosed over twenty years ago the definition is now Autism Spectrum Disorder and covers a lot more. Plus practitioners are a lot better at diagnosis. Although a lot of research has been done it is nowhere near conclusive the cause or causes. There does seem to be a strong genetic component, at the organisation where my son has attended since he was five I'd say around 40% have another person with autism or a similar disability in their family.

LAB, hope you get the support you need for your daughter. They have come such a long way with diagnosis, education and therapies since my son was diagnosed in 1994. Best of luck with it all.
Vanessa, loved the Royal Wedding. Although her dress was quite simple it was so elegant and the tiara and veil were beautiful. That Bishop certainly put a spark in the ceremony. Watching the looks on the Royal Family's faces was priceless. Really, really hope they have long and happy marriage.

I liked Planet Dragos. It seemed a fitting end to Dragos and Pia's part in the Elder Races and leaves the way clear for other characters and stories to lead.

I'm going to be reading Planet Dragos for some light relief between some of the murder mysteries and doorstoppers I've been reading.

That's good news about Chele. That volcano erupting is amazing but how horrible to be in it's path. We flew over it in late 2015 in a helicopter and it was only just bubbling on the surface but seeing even then the track of the lava to the sea over miles was something.
Not reading any PNR/UF at the moment, I'm currently reading a Karin Slaughter book romantic suspense/thriller
which despite the horrible forensics the character development is great.
