Thanks everyone. I had about 500 books on my kindle so I had a clean out and sent all but 100 back to the cloud. I thought it might help to prolong its life a bit? I do have keeper series books on my kindle especially a few independently published authors who mainly release in e format. That is going to be a pain to download them again.

Thanks everyone. I think I'll head over to the store and do some perusing before I decide. Luckily Kenny (that's my kindle's name) has been resurrected... for now.
Just one more question, when you get a new device will what's on your old one automatically transfer over including collections?

Thanks guys. I really don't want to get a new one, I have got it unfrozen this time by charging and rebooting simultaneously but the writing is on the wall as they say... It's been such a trusty companion and I've taken it everywhere with me on my travels. It will be so sad when it finally has to go to the big library in the sky, sniff.

The sad day has come.. my kindle keyboard is dying. Boo Hoo.
So what do you guys think is the best to replace it with? Paperwhite or Voyage?

Vanessa, bear in mind it is quite a few years since I read Iced. As to your questions -
(view spoiler)[
1. I think Barrons wants the entrance closed as he wants to control who or what passes in and out. Without spoiling, I can't discuss more you'll just have to read on...
2. We still don't know how powerful Dani is and who her father is or was. I'm sure more is going to be revealed in the next two books as an adult Dani is centre stage of the plot. (hide spoiler)]

After the varied comments on Iced I often wonder whether it made KMM change her story plan. As I remember Burned took a while after the schedule to be released and then Mac and Barrons came back centre stage in the last two books.
It did all come together beautifully in Feversong though. I can't wait for

Yes, there were some issues re Dani's relationship with Ryodan.. (Younger girl, older man ... ) It was interesting getting different readers POVs. In the context of where KMM was going with the story it didn't worry me and it all made sense by the end of Feversong... which was great just in case I didn't mention it, LOL.

Has anyone here read this? How is it?
I am a..."Vanessa, I'm such a fan of KMM full disclosure I love these books. Iced was really my least favourite though but if you do like the series I'd keep reading. Feversong is EPIC. That is the closure of the Mac/Barrons story arc, then there will be two books including the one you mentioned High Voltage plus one more to finish the Dani story. And then.... who knows. There are still a lot of characters she could branch off into but no promises yet.

Bought to read ratio. Groan... Don't what to even go there...

haha, good one Vanessa. I like the way you think. And yes I'm pretty sure as long as she keeps writing them I'll be reading them.

Yes, I do remember. Mhurder is still out there.. somewhere. I thought she may have him in a holding pattern ready to return at some future date. Maybe the novella.. we will see. Wonder who this Silas character is?
I wonder if J R Ward has an end point for this series planned? Or she'll just keep writing as despite the positive and negative chat over the years the fan base still seems huge.

I've only read one KA book, it was okay but once a book is over 600 pages other than a historical epic its got to be great to hold my attention. Usually I'm thinking.... editing, editing, editing and this was the case.
Even though Christine Feehans' Carpathians were my introduction into PNR I'm afraid I gave them away with Skyler and Dimitri. Just moved on.

I really loved that short The Story of Son she did quite a few years ago as well and thought it might link somehow into the BDB at some point. I wonder if this new novella may be the link??

Vanessa, I actually don't mind the re-visiting of the previous couples. In most series, there is the angst then the HEA and that's it. Unicorns and rainbows for ever! In such a long running series seeing beyond the HEA and the "real life" struggles that the couples have to work through to really have a HEA is kind of fresh.
I think she is going to apply the blowtorch to V and Jane next and of all the couples their relationship was probably the most fragile so it's going to be a bumpy ride!
Excited for The Thief as well.

You've convinced me to give these Veronica Speedwell novels a go. Thanks ladies.
And yes, as much as I love the BDB the spin off is a nice trip into what the first novels were like. Looking forward to chatting with you Vanessa over in the other thread when you're ready.

I only just finished the first one and really liked it. The set up for the second story was really well done too so I'll be getting to it shortly as well.

Pretty much same old, same old although she has now incorporated more about the Atlanteans (where the breed mates ancestors came from) in the later books which keeps it a bit fresh.
