222868 LAB. Me, Me!!! I loved it too.

Let's move over to the Buddy Read thread so as not to fill up this thread with our gushing. Vanessa, anyone else who wants to join in, feel free.

222868 Nicely put Vanessa re Dearest Ivie. And regards Virgin River, it is my favourite small town series. I love how the town becomes a character itself like a bit cheery hug.

I'm about a quarter in to High Voltage. Very much about setting the scene with Dani taking centre stage.

222868 Well, I finished Dearest Ivie (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #15.5) by J.R. Ward and it was a five star read. With all the hoopla over J R Ward it is easy to forget she is just a darn good storyteller. Just my opinion of course.. so no arguing, LOL. I remembered who Ivie was (view spoiler)

Now onto High Voltage (Fever, #10) by Karen Marie Moning - yep, reading heaven.

222868 I'm in reading heaven.

Firstly going to read Dearest Ivie (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #15.5) by J.R. Ward followed by High Voltage (Fever, #10) by Karen Marie Moning . Woo hoo.

Reminds me of the old saying.. One man's meat is another man's poison... or in this case one woman's reading heaven is another reader's reading hell, lol.

222868 RE Ian's book - I thought I read some where that it was Ian and Veritas. But I think it would be a hoot to see him with Cat's mother. He would become Cat's step daddy, LOL.

Thanks VAnessa. That was a great article. And I had to smile when JF referenced Bertrice Small's Skye O'Malley. I remember reading that as a teenager, I cut my reading romance teeth on bodice rippers.

I hope Ian's books is as good as the first books in the Night Huntress series with Cat and Bones. They were great.

Uh Oh! Is this another example of an author padding out the series. Hope not.

222868 Yes, the hint about returning to the "Old Country" seems to point to he is one of the ex Band of Bastards. Although I am drawing a blank about him being mentioned before. There was Throe, Cypher, that's all I can remember.

I can't pre-order the novella yet.

222868 Up to date in the Midnight Breed series.. Claimed in Shadows (Midnight Breed, #15) by Lara Adrian 3 stars and just about to finish the latest Demonica series Hawkyn (Demonica Underworld #5; Demonica #16; 1001 Dark Nights #77) by Larissa Ione .

I'm thinking time for both of these series to be retired.

Thanks Lisa, I knew that you would help me out. I wanted to put Dancer in for one of my A-Z Name category letters. [spoilers removed]"

Part of the appeal for KMM for me is that she does leave some mystery and "interpretation" in her story telling. Makes me think about it and yes.. sometimes nearly go crazy about it trying to work it out. And those cliffhangers... But never boring.

I'll start a new thread for more discussion of High Voltage closer to the release date.

222868 Morning everyone, I'll endeavour to be good and not kill the thread this time, LOL.

****FEVERSONG SPOILERS ******
Vanessa, Dancer's full name (as disclosed on his headstone) was Dancer Elias Garrick. Note the initials DEG - Dreamy Eyed Guy which set off a flood of chat about who he really might of been but pretty sure it was a red herring - he was just a boy who loved a girl. I thought how KMM resolved that Dani-Dancer- Ryodan love triangle was inspired. When Ryodan says something like "I wasn't her first but I'll be her last" I nearly melted.

The mural on the ceiling of BBB was like a self fulfilling prophecy, it was ordained that Barrons and Mac would be the King and Queen and then everything had to play out for it to come to pass. Although the last chapter in Feversong with Cruce still on the loose does throw a spanner in the works and the story is not yet finished.

Anyone interested - I'll set up a Buddy Read for High Voltage which releases on 6 March so as not to bore everyone else with my gushing.

I've got that lurking on my TBR as well.

I'm holding off on the new Others book. Despite the risk of being thrown out of this group... I was a bit disappointed with the last book and need a bit of distance before I pick up the world again. Don't get me wrong, the world she has imagined is AMAZING. But the last book seemed so slow and I didn't like the storyline with the evil brother at all. Meg and Simon finally becoming a couple was nearly like an after thought. So I'll read your reviews with interest.

Wow, so will that mean two years between the 12th and final book? And that will mean even longer for me as I still wait for the paperback. Maybe she is having problems ending it with a bang!

222868 I know I'm behind but just finished Silver Silence (Psy-Changeling Trinity, #1; Psy-Changeling, #16) by Nalini Singh and really liked the direction it's going with the Trinity. I do skip a bit over the intimate scenes these days (more about my changing reading tastes as I move more towards suspense) but the story going forward has a lot of promise as a spin off of the world after the fall of Silence.

Paula, as there is actually Amazon in Australia just recently would they complete your order now to do you think? In the past I've also been denied getting stuff sent over from the US for who knows what reason. Probably something to do with trade agreements or licensing laws maybe?

222868 And thank you (maybe Vanessa and Vinity ?? ) who recommended the Veronica Speedwell books. I'm half way through the first one and really enjoying it. Especially the building relationship between Veronica and Stoker who I think I am developing a big crush on, LOL.
