222868 That's fantastic LAB. So happy for you and wish you all the best. I love used books stores but they are nearly a thing of the past here. Used books only seem to exist in street libraries, where I donate all the time or Goodwill shops. I still prefer reading a book over kindle any day.

222868 Vanessa, sending you my condolences on the passing of your wonderful grandmother. What a long life, and I know you will keep her in your heart with all your special memories. xx

I'm still here Melindeeloo. But I don't post as much as I'm not reading much PNR/UF anymore. I'm mainly reading historical fiction or historical mystery or crime/thrillers with the odd romance thrown in.

Seeing as our international borders are closed I'm going to Uluru next week, looking forward to seeing it and walking around it, and flying over it etc. It's been on my travel bucket list forever, fingers crossed we won't have a covid outbreak. Out State borders shut immediately this happens.

Oh my. Snakes as heroes would give me nightmares for weeks. PASS.. but hope you enjoy it.

222868 Thanks Lulu. Now that KMM has wrapped up the Fever series the only PNR/UF I read is the BDB (Of course!) Guild Hunters and Bec McMaster's Dragon series. It was a fantastic stage in my reading life, enjoyed it immensely and will probably pop in and out of it but I mainly reader thrillers/romantic suspense and historical fiction now. Loving the historical suspense genre like Sebastian St Cyr. 💖

Maybe she is trying to branch out from PNR as that genre has reached its peak for a lot of readers. I know I only read a few series in that genre now. I'm not overjoyed that it's a MM pairing same as you Lulu. It seems she has caved in to what's popular. Both guys have seemed straight unless I've missed something? They were as you described brothers in arms. Unless they were in denial? I'm going to read it with an open mind though and see how it all plays out.

It's a bit like Lords of the Underworld when William and Gilly weren't paired. I stopped reading but to be honest it already wasn't one of my favourite series. Is anyone up to date in that, what's been happening?

222868 Wow, I'm surprised by that but I'll still read it. Maybe it's a gay for you kind of thing. Is this Nalini Singh's first MM pairing in her writing? I do like the cover art.

I just read her thriller Quiet in Her Bones by Nalini Singh which was quite good but I didn't love it. And I'm about 3 behind in the Psy Changlings which I may go back to one day.

Thanks for the heads up Vanessa.

I remember that writing style when she went from the lover books to The King . It really does jump all over the place, she's toned it back in more recent books which I prefer. But I really love how she's incorporating the Fallen Angels arc into the BDB. Devina vs the BDB/Lassiter is going to be great moving forward.

Doug, I wonder if it will ever be released? Or if she's even intending to write it? Is this some sort of record I wonder and are we the eternal optimists not to ask for the refund, LOL.

222868 Yes Vanessa! I’m waiting on my copy from the library. Love this series. It will be interesting to see what happens now after the last book's ending. (I don’t want to spoil.. )

Carol, I love Juliet Marillier but I thought this one was a little slow. But it did show promise for the next book in the series which I have but haven't got to yet. Blackthorn and Grimm was lovely.

222868 Vanessa, Can you believe I have had The Jackal (Black Dagger Brotherhood Prison Camp, #1) by J.R. Ward sitting here for months and haven't read it yet! I'm going to make it a priority to read first up next month.

222868 Oh Doug, I'm still laughing at your "man" comments. That's on a par with "why would I read the instructions" or "why do I need to look up road directions". Men, can't live with them, can't live without them.. 😉

Oh dear HBW. Good luck with that. I've been banned from attempting to "fix" things. I don't know how many screws I've stripped LOL. Although I'm pretty good with a pool pump.
