Wonders will never cease. Although I gave in about six months ago and already had cancelled mine. Has Maya Banks stopped writing? And now we'll never know the fate of Rusty and Sean.. but I guess after books of angst it would have been a spectacular HEA, LOL.

This just arrived in the post yesterday. I'm enjoying the series maybe not quite as much as Pennyroyal Green, but it still has the JAL magic.

Me too. Got a soft spot for Gabriel. I don't think this is the kind of series where he is going to find another HEA, more likely will go down fighting killing his nemesis.

222868 Has anybody read this door stopper? Empire of the Vampire (Empire of the Vampire, #1) by Jay Kristoff . I just finished it. It's an epic read, part Interview of the Vampire, part Da Vinci Code, part Game of Thrones. I really enjoyed it. Looking forward to more books in the series.

I've been having the same problem. I had a lovely lot of Collections when I had my beloved Kindle Keyboard. But with the latest one, I think it's an Oasis, I've been having all sorts of trouble. Glad to know it just wasn't me.

Yes, but if I'm getting it right Darius is going to be released only in Audible. Which makes me so mad as I don't do that. It's like a marketing thing to make people sign up I'm thinking. 😒 Guess I'll just have to wait and hope it makes it to e book or paperback.

222868 I read it, it was okay. I did skim a lot. There wasn't any full on M/M scenes at all. Nor graphic detail about the torturing as I remember. It was kind of blah. I've already broken up with Nalini Singh with the Psy Changlings, there is only one book left for Guild Hunters so I'll probably read it sometime.

Now that Karen M Moning has completed the Fever series the only Paranormal I really follow is my beloved BDB, LOL. And I still read The Others because the world building is so unique.

Awwww. can't wait. I just re-read Lover Unleashed for a challenge. And actually enjoyed it more the second time round.

I'm watching Bridgerton Season 2 as well. It's quite different from the first season.. I'm up to Episode 6 and no revealing bedroom scenes as yet.! It's so long ago that I read the series that I don't have to worry about book to TV changes all that much. I'm quite enjoying it.

222868 LAB, your website is great, if only I was 16,000 KM's closer, LOL. Sadly nearly all of our second hand book shops have closed down. All the very best with yours. 💖

I'm reading the 4th book in JAL's The Palace on the Thames series. It's not quite as clever as Pennyroyal Green but still enjoyable. After Dark with the Duke (The Palace of Rogues, #4) by Julie Anne Long

222868 Ooh. Lucky you! The Wolven is a separate arc in the BDB world so you won’t miss anything having not read it. Enjoy!

222868 So very sorry for your loss, TINNGG. That's very sad for your family.

Lulu, we definitely need a bit of escapism at the moment. More space smut might be on the menu, LOL. Burning for Love (Kindred Tales, #36) by Evangeline Anderson

I've got it on order from the library, Vanessa. Really enjoy this series. Have a great time in NYC. Can't believe it's been ten years this May since my visit. I'm getting quietly optimistic that overseas travel might be in the cards again maybe towards the end of this year.

222868 Exactly Lulu. I totally agree, 90% there is a great way of explaining it. It's nearly like she was a bit rusty, which after not publishing for five years maybe is the case. I wonder if she has a heap of books written in that time ready to release. There were still some funny lines throughout but not the natural humour and flow which made the series exceptional back in the day. But not complaining, I'm glad to have the series continue.

I was amazed by that as well Luckily I still had my notebook when I used to keep notes about paranormal series to keep stuff straight when it was a year between books. It's great how tenacious KC was about getting her publishing rights back or whatever it was that kept her from writing. I'm hoping she keeps writing them. I don't really read very much paranormal now, you all know my enduring love for the BDB, LOL but I think I'll still read this one as well. There's enough world building and the Accession plot keeps it interesting.

222868 I finished it as well. I agree, the best parts were with the other characters especially Lothaire and Nix moving on with the Accession. But that's because I've probably moved on from all the fated mated stuff and pages of sexual exploits. 🤣

222868 Kristi, all the best with your Mum, glad it seems to be all working out for you. Going through your parent's things are the worst, my Mum got ill and passed away so quickly. Because she had been in an independent unit in a retirement centre we had very little time to clear out the unit for them to re-sell. I remember after the final clear out just sitting on the floor and crying my eyes out. Even though your Mum is still here it is still a very emotional time. Make sure you take care of yourself.

222868 Miracles do happen... the latest IAD by Kresley Cole landed on my kindle last night and I'm reading! Munro (Immortals After Dark, #18) by Kresley Cole

I'm about 5 chapters in and so far pretty good. Of course after such a gap my biggest problem is remembering all the details from before. Seems she is self publishing under Valkyrie Press so hopefully the series will resume at normal pace.. and will be as good as the earlier books. Lothaire is still a favourite. 222868 It's a very difficult situation. My mother was getting to that point when cancer took her very quickly. It was devastating at the time but now my sister and I realise that it was probably best for our Mum. She would have fought against any sort of assisted living also. She left her own house on her own terms and went to hospital and passed away very quickly.

I think this is why we are called the sandwich generation, Between caring for our elderly parents and our kids.. and grandkids. All the best to you all that are handling the situations, you can only do what you can do.
