Writing is my first love. Even before I could read or put coherent sentences down on paper, I would beg the older kids to team up with me for the purpose of crafting ghost stories to share with our friends. This first writing partnership came to a tragic end when my coauthor decided to quit a day later, and I threw my cookies at her head. Today, I stick with solo writing, telling the stories that would otherwise keep me up at night.

Most days (and nights) are spent feeding my tea addiction while defending the computer keyboard from my feline companion, Loki, who would like to try her paw at typing.

How many books will there be in this series?!

I mean, don’t get me wrong, I want as many as possible but I can’t handle waiting yet a few more months for the next part and so on.

I love Kira as much as I loved Shea (a heroine from this authors other series). I’m a sucker for stories about badass women- lately this description has kind of lost its meaning but I feel like this character is the very definition of it. That woman is the reason a war was won. She is so intelligent and capable and damn, I wanna be her!

This story definitely has a bit of a “chosen one” feel to it, although that’s not quite clear yet, because of all the twists and secrets that keep popping up.

Can’t wait for the next book to come out.

Dear Kira,

I know that you a bad bitch. Jin knows that you a bad bitch. Flynn has begrudgingly admitted it. But you are letting THE REST OF THE GODDAMN UNIVERSES TRAMPLE ALL OVER YOU AND I WILL NOT HAVE IT SIR!

Your secrets and schemes are slowly becoming uncovered. So the whole denial thing on Graydon's involvement-- is sorta a moot point now. You either need to kill his ass, run the fuck away from him or accept his goddamn help. I think you know which one I am voting for. KILL HIM...haha jk kidding...unless ??

But follow my logic: This entire time, you Kira have been keeping secrets BECAUSE everyone considers you a (1) child, (2) small barbarian, (3) a traitor to humanity. People on all sides are constantly trying to control you and manipulate you into situations.

Also, let's get real if you couldn't have said "No" to meeting your parental planets, then really why the fuck do you think humans or aliens will suddenly take you seriously enough to engage on battle plans once you finally share your knowledge??!

You need to assert yourself on a higher level. Not just a warrior, but as a Leader and Decision-maker.

Otherwise, you will share your knowledge then *boom* get locked in a room somewhere while the "big kids" *cough Graydon cough* try to fix it themselves. Which we all know will go extremely poorly.

You also need to take some self-reflection on your friends there. Because Jin with his major secret obviously needs more attention. The adopted kiddo deserves a goddamn explanation. And your information on your 'dead friend' is starting to look pretty damn inaccurate.

And I'm curious where Odin the computer mastermind has gone because he obviously got a whole secret network that you are heavily involved in and can utilize it to solve your current lack of information.

And finally. I would love you to really develop your powers. Purposefully. Not just a disaster suddenly triggering some new abiltiies. But you, Kira making an effort to actually *finally* understand your abilities. Cuz I mean the whole "bomb" ability you have going on is clearly powerful but severely limited. Work on using your abilities more casually--a more variety of powers. Show us who the FIREBIRD really is with your primus form. AKA, put Graydon down on his ASS.

And I mean you have visited BOTH of your parental planets but haven't really researched whether your ability is... oh i dunno... GENETIC?? Family abilities??? Sacred knowledge to pass onto you if you could stop and actually listen? Or better yet sneak around and figure it out for yo self ... just saying...

You are resourceful. You are cunning. But your stubbornness is preventing you from monopolizing on the informational pools available at your feet if you are only sneaky enough to get to it. We want you to show everyone the real power of Kira-- your ability to take the punches, the sneaky backup plans, your protective instincts, and best of all: your ability to sass any goddamn person even during intense battle scenes

Sincerely,
The Firebird Fan Club

I really should have re-read the second book before reading this one. There are so many minor secondary characters (looking at you, oshotas) and I couldn't keep any of them straight (besides Finn). And then of course even MORE characters get added, and so I was just lost at times.

I did enjoy the parts of the overall plot that moved forward - mainly Kira and Graydon's relationship, the mystery behind Elena, and the reason why Jin won't easily be accepted by the Tuann. However, other plot points from the previous books were basically dropped all together - Kira's training with Wren only happens once, she barely directly interacts with Himoto, and there are no insights into what the Tsavitee are planning overall. But there is just enough new information given, especially about Kira's past, to keep the reader wanting to continue on with this series and find out what happens next.

Oh and can I just say Raider is an ass and/or the author really missed a major plot point?

so, to all my fantasy romance peeps!!!

Read this series!

Start with ☞ Rules of Redemption

It has everything we love, a great story, strong world building, and a heroine that stands on her own feet. And OMG the writing is SO GOOD. Don't hesitate, you'll thank me later :D

ALMOST FIVE STARS!!!

Wow, wow, wow!!

I love this series. I love the writing. And I'm absolutely hooked on the story. Each time I finish one book, I can't wait to read the next one. It's fascinating how the author connects the dots, and keeps on writing spellbinding storylines.

If you love space adventures, with a kick ass heroine, and an amazing cast you'll LOVE this series.
AND there is a love interest. One that has been supportive of the heroine from the very first book. I love them together, and just adore the way the author gives them time to figure it out.

No drama. Instead amazing world building, and one fabulous plot.

A series I can only recommend!!!

I don't know how the author does it, but this series just gets better and better with each book. I stayed up way too late finishing this up because I just couldn't put the book down. I just love it when a book grabs you right at the beginning and you can just sink down into the story as if you are right there.

There is just so much of what I love in this series. The heroine is like an underdog. She is highly underestimated and I get such a kick out of everyone's reactions when she does the unexpected. I also love that she is so casual about all the things she can do. The way she reacts to those trying to push her buttons or even the ones who see her as hero. I love her fierce protectiveness and loyalty to those she sees fit to give to. Her and Jin are just very entertaining to read about.

Graydon. One of my favorite heroes to date. He's got all the markings for a great hero. He's very powerful. He's intense. He's well respected. He's also just as loyal and fierce in his protection as Kira is. I also really love how he is pursuing Kira. This is a very slow burn but it definitely is not lacking in Romance. You can just feel the pull between these two.

I'm also enjoying the heck outta all the side characters. There are many of them and they all play a big part in this series and what they could mean to Kira. There is still many things to discover in this series. I find that I really like how the author navigates telling her story. I honestly just can't wait for more. I imagine when the final book comes out, I will be very sad to say goodbye to all these characters.

3 stars. It took me more determination than I care to admit to read every word and not start skimming. I just didn’t feel it as much as I did the 2 previous books. We all knew Kira was a super special snowflake, but turns out she is an uber extra super mega snowflake. She is the best at everything. The most competitive. The most secretive. Coincidentally finds out she has friends in high places. Knows everyone who is a player on the field. Has all the right contacts. Is always at the right place at the right time. Etc... it gets a bid old. On top of that she does a lot of this false modesty that is just annoying. It comes across as arrogant even though the author tries to cover it as humorous. Additionally, Kira often intents to keep a low profile to then create the biggest attention grabbing fuss ever. Very counter productive. We also get more information about Elena, who throughout the book is being used as a fix-all for a lot of issues. She is always doing something she isn’t supposed to and by doing so solving a problem or providing the exact right information. Also, for someone so important she is often left unsupervised or minimally protected.
The other things that bothered me were the fact that the story didn’t really go anywhere, I didn’t see the point of a lot of things: The races as the setting for the whole book. why everyone ever mentioned in the previous books were there (what were their purposes)? The long side stories. The excessive explaining...

I’m sorry I don’t mean to rant or be to negative. I am planning on reading the next book. I was just a little disappointed in the main characters and the overall story line. This one didn’t grab and enthral me as the previous two and Kira lost a little of her allure to me.

Reread Sept 2022 it was still perfection.

------------

So... shit went down at the end of this book. I think we all need to meet the Forty Three.

The thing with Jin finally moved one step forward.
We get to know more about Kira's past.
The whole competition bit there was actually entertaining (and didn't turn me off).
Graydon was super charismatic and yummy as usual.
And the best thing, THEY FINALLY DID IT. 😉

All in all, it met my expectation to the T and now I have to wait some more for the next book. 😥

Man. Man. It was so good, and I'm crying my eyeballs out. This is definitely one of my favorite series... Can't freaking wait for the next one.

I'm not ready to leave this world. Jumping into a re-read starting at book 1. I promise I'll leave a better review after the second pass.

First re-read
Man, I just love it even more. Parts of it just break my heart, but overall it is so good.

Okay, so, speculation. In book 2 we found the generals actually also have a second form, making them very like Tuann primus. They even look similar. This points to a common origin ... They are likely related to the Tuann, experiments that were unable to escape the way the Tuann did. Aeron laments that despite Kira being called Savior, she never came to save them because they just weren't the favored children. We know Odin was somehow enslaved to the Masters before Kira freed her, and her people still are - that's why she's working with Kira, to find her people and free them. I expect the generals are in this same boat, bound to the Masters with no real free will. Aeron said they don't free themselves because they have to stay to protect their children.

Other thoughts, in no particular order:

- I missed Harlow in this book. I want to see Kira get the father figure she deserves. Himoto is a complicated person, and I have some respect for him (), but Kira has never know the pure, unconditional love of family. She deserves that, and I like Harlow. I think he could be that person.

- Fuck the forty-three. Seriously, I do not like them at all. They abandoned Kira and Jin, then later pranced into their lives to make demands and threats, even attempting to kill them several times when Kira didn't obey. They have never helped Kira and Jin. They are selfish, self-absorbed, and at least as flawed as the Tuann with their secrecy, entitled bullshit, and superiority complex. I want Kira to leave them in the cold, not help them even one fucking iota after the way they have treated her. Fuck all of them. Even Selene - her condescension was gross, and I'm glad Kira threw in her face that she was with Finn because it was nice that someone had her back FOR ONCE - and especially Alexander.

- I can't wait for things to unfold with Jin. I'm seriously dying over here.

- I can't wait for the Tuann to realize they are just as corrupted as the humans they look down on... And that they can't do this alone, they need the humans and Haldeel.

- I'm really glad for the forward movement with Kira and Graydon, especially the no more secrets (as long as said secrets are theirs to share). I hope this is just the start of them working together rather than around each other.

I hope we get the next one soon!!

I loved it!!
description
There was so much to unpack and digest in the book. I read it just as soon as it was published, but I've needed this long to come to terms with all the drama which unfolded.
I loved the progression of Kira's relationship with Graydon. They finally release some of their secrets to each other, and begin to trust each other a whole lot more.
The kid! God she is such a brat. It's so obvious that Jin and Kira were the ones to raise her.

There were so many of my questions answered in this novel, but what you've gotta love about T. A. White, is that the more questions she answers, the more she raises.

I really really really LOVE it!

❤️❤️❤️

Go, read this series!!

I add a bit of comments here.
I read an extra story about Selene in the author’s blog.
You will knew her, after reading this book.

I really hope these lost children will reunite with their families after I found the broken family’s story who are grieving for decades. It wasn’t their fault this tragedy happened and the real villains should paid for their crimes with Kira and Jin, leading the revenge assaults! ❤️

"...heroes made for shitty parents."

Threshold of Annihilation went in a direction I did not appreciate at all. There were so many things about the plot here that plainly did not make any damn sense to me whatsoever. Kira's character development throughout the previous book was thrown away here when it was Convenient for Plot Reasons and I also didn't appreciate how overpowered she was.

The competition plot here made no sense to me. There was no reasonable explanation as to why Kira had to approach it the way she did? And then to throw that plan out the window because she was incapable of not being reckless. This was a consistent issue throughout this book: Kira saying she was going to do something and then behaving like the decision she made went against her values as a person and was actually being imposed on her by someone else. No???? You made the choice????

And another thing, Kira's niece only existed to cause problems for Kira or to reveal information to other characters. She was also supposed to be kept safe at all costs, according to Kira, but ran free throughout the entire book with no consequences. It also really irked me that her father was never made aware of her birth for no discernible reason that was actually believable plot wise and she kept referring to him as 'sperm donor' despite him never having had the chance to get to know her because Kira made the choice to keep her niece a secret from him.

Regarding the romance: I was still uncomfortable, even more so as it escalated quite a bit in this installment.

There was one particular plot point involving a character that'd kind of been a sore point between Kira and Raider that I thought was pretty okay? It did parallel the twists from the two previous books, though, which made me think White doesn't really know how to create conflict without using the same or similar plot points as they did before. Even so, I will be reading the next book when it comes out because I want to see if the plot changes direction again.

As usual this book did not disappoint. At this point there is nothing Kira and Grayson can do that would make me love them any less. I wish that I had started this journey when the entire series was out because the book withdrawal I always have after reading about this two is something else.

Can't wait till the next book.

Still not as good as book 1, but yes way better than book 2. Unfortunately so many things did not add up from that book that it’s still a bit jarring. She’s not trusting but she is. She’s 90 going on 20. And here again, less smack in your face but they are there. And the Tuann’s are difficult to empathise when dealing with “children”... or the threats honestly.

The final twist wasn’t solid in my mind. But lots of point weren’t including the code. Childish doesn’t cover it. Not well thought at all. But maybe it’s personal.
Anyway I enjoyed it and read in one sitting.

Please read Linda and Holly’s reviews they are spot on.

To read or not to read, this is the question. After book 2 disappointment I’m a little leery, I admit. Will she be a grownup as in book 1 or will she revert to high school as in book 2?

I love the world and characters White has created with this series. Book one was fantastic. Book two was a little disappointing. Book three, which picks up immediately after the events of book two, is a bit of a mixed bag.

There are significant advances in multiple plot lines, with some very satisfying and some difficult events. We get insight into a number of complex relationships and uncover more secrets and betrayals and get a glimpse at some major clashes to come.

However, for much of the book, we are treated to repeated scenarios of people disparaging or underestimating Kira and Kira displaying her mad skills in everything from fighting to wave board riding to negotiating dangerous mazes. You’d think at some point word would get out that she was a bit of a badass, but the challenges just keep coming, many of which do little to advance the story.

I also continue to have trouble accepting the aggressively overprotective actions of the Tuann with respect to “children.” While ninety years old certainly may be young for a species that can live for thousands of years, at what age do they consider someone to have reached adulthood? How can they ignore the fact that a “child” has been independent for many decades? As a bit of a weird aside, if Kira still is considered a child, how can Grayson at the same time view her with interest in a very adult way?

There also are some proofreading and editing issues that at times got in the way of the story. There were simple things like wrong or missing words along with some nagging inconsistencies. One example: If Kira had been with the other (older) kidnapped children for decades in the camp, how could she not have known that they were Tuann, not human? It’s clear the 43 are aware of their origins and even likely knew at least some of their family identities.

While I’ve spent more time on the negatives in this review, it’s mostly because I think this is a good series that could be truly great. This book reveals some significant events and backstory that are crucial to the series and I look forward to seeing where White takes us from here.

description

Experiencing this book was everything and more. I am absolutely wrecked to have finished the released books and I feel the loss down to my bones. I wish I had all the next in the series in my hand. Though I can tell you it won't still be enough. I was literally in awe to learn that all of this is a solo act.

T.A. White created such solid characters with such admirable qualities prescribed to them. None felt flat to me, all of them being woven with such an innate complexity that make them full-filling in themselves. The relations White created there-on build them up so perfectly, especially Kira-Jin and Kira-Graydon. I am a fan. Biggest one at that!!

White's ki also comes out in her plot which is so vivid and surreal. It sucks you in right from the start, holds you in its grips and expels you days after you are done. Me? I am still hooked and feeling the loss... so much so that I think I am going to re-read the entire chronicles till now again.

I am not going to reveal anymore because this story really is an experience and all of you need to experience it. Do not let certain preferences hold you back.

I will catch you on the other side.

Important question: is Kira more of a Star Lord or a Rocket? 'Cause I see arguments for both:

Or

Ah, you say Gamora? She has the hair for it.

I continue to have such mixed emotions with this series. What it does well it does really well. The worldbuilding. The slow reveal of backstory. Even the pacing (mostly) works. The action is never far off but always different making this an easy, fast-paced read despite the length.

But these characters. I'm running out of patience with them.

It was a trick question asking which Guardians of the Galaxy character Kira is. Because all those characters, at their heart, are either assholes or assassins. Kira thinks she's both. She's not. And I think it just robs her character so much potential. She doesn't have an evil bone in her body and her very nobleness gets downright irritating.

But that's not just a Kira problem. All the characters in this series are either Very Good or Very Evil. And you can pick the Very Evil ones out from a mile away.

I think there is supposed to be some lives of the few versus lives of the many theme going on in this series but honestly, I feel untouched by the whole thing.

Even this book's final sacrifice left me basically emotionless. And the emotions I did feel were more of the eye-rolling variety than actual sadness.

The other problem I run into with these characters, besides their moral perfection supposedly addressed by such vices as impulsiveness and overprotectiveness, is simply their invulnerability.

Finally, the romance. Sigh. The story finally did it. It turned Graydon into arm-candy and I've lost interest in him. 'Nobly fluttering around wishing to save the lady love but letting her follow her own path' only lasts so long before I start going:

Also, that sex scene. Ew. Why? Now I can't recommend this series to people. Why you got to be that way?

Anyway, I'm definitely interested in continuing this story as it comes but I'll try not to keep my expectations as high.

I began this series two days ago and my life became a blur. I resented all my normal chores as they took me away from what I really wanted to be doing - reading this series. Too often, lying in bed reading, I would think just one more chapter and suddenly it would be 2am.

I've read books by this author before and enjoyed them, but this series was in a league of its own. To be truthful I had read the first chapter of book one online ages ago and rolled my eyes, as it didn't feel any different from any other sci-fi fantasy read - which turned out to be very lucky. As by the time I finally did give this series a chance three books had been published. Meaning I could dive straight from one to next. Lucky, lucky me.

I'm not going to give any spoilers, or much of anything away. Except to say this series is all about Kira, she's complicated, far from perfect and has a truck load of baggage - but damn, if she isn't kind of perfect. Even as she throws herself into near impossible situations I supported her decisions and held my breath until all the excitement was over.
You will laugh. You will cry, I know I did a couple of times. The romance element is sneaky, Kira and Graydon, they snark and they butt heads, but as their relationship evolves you can't imagine any one else for either of them.

All three books I have read so far in this series have been five star fantastic. The author rarely making a mis-step in the action/adventure/romance.

In a nutshell - sublime.

I decided on a reread as we are getting a book 4 and I was hyped for it. I wanted to experience all things Kira, Jin & Graydon and I needed to know what happened next. I thought book 4 was out 07/09/22 but alas I misread and it is 27/09/22 so peeved right now.

Kira our firebird is kickarse heroine she has developed over these three books to someone you have no choice but to root for. Book 2 sees Elena & Kira escaping House Roake however not by Kira's choice. Odin is behind it all. But they are on a mission. Save the races from the puppet masters. But who are the puppet masters?

Kira brings Elena back to Jettie to one of the forty three as they were also kept in that camp so long ago. But Elise has also been sighted on Jettie so it is a win win situation. Only that Graydon and the Roake don't easily let go what belongs to them.

Graydon and Kira's slow burn romance progresses. Finally! The ending leaves everything wide open. I have so many questions and am dying to see where it all goes.

Young Adult book... of course it ends with the old enemy coming back. No doubt so much more powerful than before. I’m sure our heroine is the only one who can single handedly win the war again... because of course remember fucking Rothschild.. where she annihilated an entire planet and sent the age old enemies fleeing. Of course....

{My initial feedback with this book at 13%
I’m struggling to get into this book. How has this book got such a high rating? It’s boring and Kira is always so good at everything. How do you let a 13 year old rule your choices. I’m getting bored at the thought of reading about the races at only 13%.}

Got to the end. Thank Goodness!
Thankfully the book does not focus on the races!!! But I would class this book as a young adult book. Too many secrets, plot twists and way too much detail in the world building.

World Building: is detailed but feels dreary. To the extent the author felt the need to explain a could be romance with Jace.... like I cared? You can barely explain the romance in this story so why introduce another possibility. FFS!

Plot: the secrets are getting boring and honestly it’s repetitive. If another bloody secret is mentioned I might throw this book.

Romance: doesn’t exist in this. The hero if you might call him that...is sidelined to a one night stand. A lot bloody smirking from him.

Annoying parts to the book:
You are introduced to the emperor and JIN finally finds out who his father is but that’s completely brushed to one side. Nothing mentioned about it... secrets and to be honest it’s shit.

Fucking 43: Same.... if the Tuaan love their kids what’s with the 43 and their fears. The 43 sounds like a god awful bunch of twats. They didn’t support or rescue anyone but themselves. What’s the justification for them? Can I predict the next book ... they come to the rescue from yee old enemy by displaying hugely unique and terrifying abilities never seen before? Maybe they’ll turn by the fifth book? Who the fuck cares... Do they become like the “masters of the universe” we have yet to be told about. Plays ominous music at this point.

The spoilt shit:
I honestly felt sick to death of Elena, the completely spoilt brat allowed to do whatever she wants and it’s cute because she gets away with it. Why? Our heroine allows a 13 year old to get off the planet and then spins it into the story as something good. She wants to go to the quorum so what’s the point of this?? To introduce the wave board races that have no point whatsoever .... something amazing that our heroine is so bloody fucking good at?

The hardest part to deal with it, is that she calls Elise, “mother” but the father who knew nothing about her existence “sperm donor”. Does anyone else think that’s bloody awful. The woman who gave birth to her and gives her away is treated with more kindness than the father who is devastated by the secrets is treated like shit.

Heroine: I want to slap her silly by the end of the book. Is there anything that our heroine cannot do? Bad ass but to the point of stupidity. All because of these awful secrets. Who the fuck cares about these secrets.

Let me guess... the next book she will be the emperor’s long lost sister cousin so she has more powers than him. The most powerful Tuaan. So far she seems to be more almighty than any other person in existence.

I love this series, love the characters, the setting, the action, the mystery. It all fits so wonderfully together. It's posted as Science fiction, I'm not sure I'd call it that. Yes there is space, other worlds, different species but it's not really about that. It's about the characters, the connections, the histories, and possible futures.
This one ended with a lot of open ends. I hope book 4 is coming soon

Gimme!!!
OK so I couldn't seem to process this book well enough to write a review after reading it. Kinda felt like too many things where going on at thesame time but that's sort of a good thing because the story really progressed.

I'm OBSESSED with this series! I was lucky enough to get an advanced copy and you don't want to miss this if you've already started the series! Threshold of Annihilation is a fantastic continuation that answered so many questions and makes me want more and more of this world. It starts out where the second book left off and the bang gets even bigger. The entire book was awesome! I'm trying really hard not to spoil anything for those who haven't started the series. You definitely need to begin with Rules of Redemption, book one. This book and the entire series truly has everything I personally love. It has humor, mystery elements, action, awesome settings in an INCREDIBLE world, a powerful and awesome heroine, a sexy badass hero and secondary characters I can't get enough of. If you love a blend of science fiction, fantasy and slow burn romance with tons of steamy chemistry you may find yourself devouring these books as I have. Kira and Graydon are at the top of my all time favorite couple list, right up there with Eve and Roarke (In Death series by JD Robb). That said, another really cool thing for me is that Kira and Graydon are so incredibly awesome as individual characters.

Reread 6/15/2021

I CAN’T WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE. I heard that it’s coming out around August 2022! This is my all-time hall of fame favorite series. Action-packed and keeping me at the edge of my seat, eyes glued to the pages!

There are not enough words to describe how much I love this series.

If had to explain this book in one phrase: everything is not as it seems.

If you haven’t started this series, you need to. Stellar characters, smart banter, complex plots, and badass action – what more can you want?

I’m very happy with this book. I feel like I’m caught in a web that is slowly constricting and eventually all the possibilities will coalesce into an epic ending.

This one set up a lot of interesting plot points for future books and focused on developing relationships between characters as well as deepen our understanding of all of the players in this game. There was a lot of emotional growth and I can’t wait to see what happens next. That being said, I do wish Kira had more physical improvement with her ki. I really wanted to see her demolish her enemies with it, but I understand this takes time and I believe we will see this in the next book.

Can’t wait for it!!!

Highly, highly, HIGHLY anticipated novel that DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!!

**This series needs to be read in order, or you will be very confused. Start with Rules of Redemption by TA White. I received an advance copy in exchange for an honest review. The book is available 15 Dec 2020.

This book is genius. Strong female heroine, action-packed adventure, made me laugh out loud writing, with a slow burn romance that is believable and well developed throughout the series. The relationships and friendships are complicated and relatable. When this book became available, I immediately dropped everything I was doing and eagerly jumped inside TA White's world.

While the main character has good friends and lots of support, she is also very capable and independent. In this book in the series, you learn a lot about the mystery hinted at in books 1 and 2 and start to see how and why events occurred they way that they did. This leaves the reader in eager anticipation of where this ongoing war will lead. There is not one single boring scene in the entire book. It keeps you hooked, engaged, and ADDICTED. The background of the characters have been resolved and I am excited about where the future of these characters will go!
