Shannon, just wondering, have you thought about just alternating? I mean, read an old book, a new one, an old, a new, etc.? That way you hopefully won't also miss out on the new releases. Just a thought, best of luck, you're gonna need it. ;-)

I'm astonished to say it took me this long to get a book this month:
Grimm Fairy Tales Volume 11 Tp

If I could meet my favorite authors, I would probably faint, since my favorite authors aren't alive anymore. j/k. Often, though, when I do get to meet authors I like I first tell them how much I like their work and then ask what are they going to give us next to read. :-)

I'm glad so many people do like the masthead. I hadn't realized though that so many people didn't know about this wonderful short film either. Glad you've seen it now. :-)

It's from The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore which is a 2011 American animated short film directed by William Joyce and Brandon Oldenburg, and produced by Moonbot Studios in Shreveport, Louisiana. Described as an "allegory about the curative powers of story", the film centers around bibliophile Lessmore and his custodianship of a magical library of flying books. It was created using computer animation, miniatures and traditional hand-drawn techniques.
After winning over a dozen film festivals, the film was awarded the Best Animated Short Film at the 84th Academy Awards. An official iPad app based on the film is also available in the Apple App Store. A book adaption is expected to be released in late 2012.
You can watch the film here:

May you have a good May and share with us here what books you bought to add to your collection this month.

At the moment, I'm at 106 of 365 (29%) 10 books (3%) behind.

I hate lending to others as well as borrowing from other people. If a person wants to borrow a book of mine, I direct them to the public library. Let the public library deal with late fines or replacement fees if necesary, besides, it's good for the public library to be used for what it was made for, lending books.

Just got back from Anderson's where I got
Kimberly Derting's autograph on
The Last Echo and
Desires of the Dead.

Just got back from getting a signed copy of

I had a blast this weekened! I went to C2E2, the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo. They only had so much so I am glad I did bring some of my own, but I got free books signed by:

The main thing that keeps me from reading when I would really like to is that I am just too tired to concentrate and be able to stay focused on a book. That's when I sadly put it aside and turn on some mindless television show instead.
