I'm currently at 266 of 300 (89%). I think I should be able to reach my goal by the end of the year if I get through 20 books each in the next two months. Piece of cake, right?

My favorite month! (My birthday is in November. ;-) ) Share your purchases with us here.

To be honest, I didn't think I had ever read a single book that was that long, but looking at my records, it turns out I have, just barely. My copy of
David Copperfield has 1001 pages and having been written by the great
Charles Dickens was quite an enjoyable read.

We'll be moving in a couple weeks and I have over 3000 books to move. Th..."I just moved myself into my first house and ended up boxing up 5200 books. The primary thing my new home had to have was plenty of wall space for bookcases. :-)

One that caught my attention at a used book sale was
Pope's Rhinoceros, The: A Novel. The cover caught my eye, too:
. For the cheap price it was, I thought "Why not?"

I'm a chronic rereader and for the most part, I don't buy a book unless I know I want to keep it. If I'm not sure I'll like a book, I check it out of the library first. If I do like it, then I'll buy it to add to my personal library to be reread when the time and mood is right. I very rarely, if ever, remove a book. If I do, it most likely is because it is in just such bad shape it really isn't usuable anymore, and if that's the case, I'll often buy a new copy of it.

To be honest, I don't think you want a list of the series I collect since it would probably take too long to read. Looking at my library, I have about 150 series that I like to read and collect from every genre you can think of, both fiction and nonfiction.

I often take books from the public library where I work to get signed along with my own personal copies. It's fun to see patrons when they discover a library copy is autographed.

I would never buy them in different formats from each other. When I collect a series I want all the books in it and all of them in paper format. Paperback and hardcover I might mix if I am backtracking and buying an older series and just trying to get each book and each book cheap, a new series I try to get all in the same, either PB or HC.

I lowered my goal from 365 to 250. Since buying a house, my reading time has really dropped. If I had known that was going to happen, I would have stuck with the apartment. ;-)
Anyway, I'm currently at: 250 of 300 (83%), 22 books (7%) ahead.
