Me too. I like it when they are personalized, it adds a bit of history to that book. It's even kind of fun to buy used books that are signed and personalized to someone, it gets you wondering where that book has been and what it's "life" has been like. :-)

At the library I work at it's fun to see the look on a patron's face when they inquire what our limit is and I ask them if they think they can stay under 50 items.

22225 Went to "The Bookstore" in Glen Ellyn, IL and got signed The Aviator's Wife signed by Melanie Benjamin. This was the third book this author has written and it was the third book by her I got signed. IMO, all three titles are 5 star works of historical fiction. The other two titles by her are Alice I Have Been and The Autobiography of Mrs. Tom Thumb: A Novel.
This brings my collection up to being 98 signed books! :-)

I learned that he is also an illustrator and animator, too. In fact, he created Bob the Builder!

22225 Jean wrote: "Do you ever get ebooks autographed? They have than kindlegraph thing you can do now. Does that appeal to you as a reader? Is Kindle trying to find a way to compete with an autographed paper book? I..."
That's another reason I don't like ebooks. Having a real paper book signed adds to it by giving it a history. Finding a signed book on a shelf adds to its quality, it makes you wonder where that book has been and who has read it. You can't do that with an ebook.

Cristina, if you haven't read them already, you are really going to like Molly Murphy's Jane Jameson series. It is a real riot, a lot of fun to read. One of my favorite series.

22225 Batsap wrote: "So I made a new year's resolution not to buy any more books... but today I bought Raffles: The Amateur Cracksman, so that's going well =]"

Batsap, that's definately a perfect example of a pie crust promise- easily made, easily broken. ;-)
22225 The Cat Who Had 60 Whiskers. The series was wonderful until this one. The author Lilian Jackson Braun had been very sick for a long time and the publishers made the bad mistake of having a ghost writer finish the book for her. It was terrible! I wish I had never read it, it was an insult to what had been a very good mystery series until then. And then Mrs. Braun died. It would have been better if they had just left the readers hanging to make up their own minds how things would have ended rather than have a terrible ghost writer try to tie up the loose ends in an absolutely horrible way.

22225 It's a new year and a new challenge, how high are you aiming this year? I was aiming for 300 and made it to 314 in 2012 so I'm aiming to at least hit 315 this year. Best of luck, everyone, and have fun!
