At my current pace, I don't think I have much change of reaching my goal this year. I'm really tempted to lower my goal to one I believe I can reach. Think I should?

A List of Book Exchange Websites
.by Goodwill Librarian on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 11:30pm ·.Avid readers horde books like a squirrel hordes nuts, but even the most relentless pack rats can run out of space. Garage sales and half-priced bookstores can be a great way to clean out those bookshelves, but you aren't going to get back the money you put into it.
.
That's where book swapping and book exchanges come into the picture. Instead of selling your book back for a fraction of the cost, you participate in a book exchange by mailing your book to someone who requests it and receiving your own request in the mail. Your old book finds a reader, and in return, you get a book to read.
.
Book exchange websites make the process of trading books easy. Most are free to use, and some even pay for the postage needed to exchange books. Here is a list of good ones to check out:
■Swaptree. Trade books, music or video games. http://www.swaptree.com/
■WhatsOnMyBookshelf?. Create book lists, categorize books by tag, meet people with similar interests and exchange books. http://whatsonmybookshelf.com/
■America's BookShelf. A full service book club that lets you share your books online. http://www.americasbookshelf.com/
■BookCrossing. Register your book and then set it free by leaving it on a park bench or in a gym allowing it to find a new owner and perhaps create a new book lover. http://www.bookcrossing.com/
■Bookins. Trade and exchange books and DvDs for just the cost of postage. http://www.bookins.com/
■BookMooch. Mail your books to someone who wants them for points and then use your points to buy books from other users. http://www.bookmooch.com/
■BookSwim. The Netflix for books, BookSwim is a book rental service where you create a pool of books and have them mailed to you. http://www.bookswim.com/
■PaperBackSwap. Exchange books with other readers for the price of postage. http://www.paperbackswap.com/
■Read It Swap It. A UK-based book exchange service. http://www.readitswapit.co.uk/TheLibr...
■Socialbib. A book exchange service focused on helping students get college textbooks for free. http://www.socialbib.com/

Too bad they came for a store that is closing. I hate seeing another bookstore bite the dust."
That's a shame. :-( What store is it and do you happen to know why it is closing? Just curious.

Nope, turned out to be a mistake. The patron was packing to move and it ended up in the wrong box. We figured it wasn't meant to be ours when we saw all the personal data was still on it.

I know what you mean. Just the other day a patron at the library I work at brought in a box of books to donate. As we were going through it, what did we come across? A brand new KINDLE! Fortunately we knew who the person was and were able to get that particular "donation" back to him, but we've come across so many other things like photos and money that I am sure most people would rather not lose.

On our 1st anniversary in 2010 we had 301 members.
On our 2nd anniversary in 2011 we had 2159!
Today on our 3rd anniversary in 2012 we are up to 2336!
