Well, September Savings was a good idea...

Well, September Savings was a good idea (on paper, at least.) and I have been more aware of what I am purchasing. But strict budgets, along with an unexpected auction don't really go hand-in-hand.
Saturday morning, I went to an auction with Dad, right up the road from my house. And brought home a library table, a Kitchenaid, and a copper tea kettle.
Finding a spot for the library table was not as difficult as I anticipated.

It is in great shape. And I have always wanted a libra...

Also, weaving, of course. Plus, garden!

And, of course I've been weaving, as well.

Plus, the morning glories in the garden look particularly nice.

And I'm still picking stuff out of the garden (the tomatoes were all slow-roasted today.)

Cleaning/decluttering/reorganizing

I worked in the entry room and part of the kitchen today.

Eliminated a lot of clutter, made it easier to sweep the rugs and floor, sorted through everything, and swept up a ton of cat hair.
I will be moving onward.

Weaving.

It still amazes me that I can cut a few lengths of string and end up with something like this.

Rigid heddle.

One dragon picture frame that Dad found in a box plus one small metal rigid heddle I got somewhere equals a very cool rigid heddle.

Warping looms.

I spent some time yesterday afternoon warping my scarf-sized looms. There are four now, and four is probably one too many.

This morning, I beat the cats to the Big Green Loom and wove a bit on my rug, as well:

Yard Sales!

A very hot day at the yard sale today! But I did get rid of a lot of stuff, and the leftovers are going to the church rummage sale, so that's good.
Now I'm relaxing a bit, weaving, and writing. It's supposed to be cooler tomorrow, although I won't be setting up. I have tomatoes (and more peppers) to process and pick, and quite a few other things to do.
I set a budget of $20, and spent $6. Here are two of the things I bought:

New band on the belt loom...

Toothpicks and toilet paper tools means I'm warping the band loom again!

September Savings

I'm doing a September Savings Challenge this month. For the entire month of September, my goal will be to buy only essentials--groceries, gas, cat food and litter, etc.--and to not add to my little herd of looms and spinning equipment. I can wait on fiber purchases, and I certainly don't need any additional spindles.
In October, I do plan to buy some fiber for spinning, as my stash is rather low (and it's my birthday month, so I'm allowed!)
My only days off will be for Burlington on...
