Close-up

Couldn't wait; had to see how it would look. I like it!

Weaving

I wound a bobbin using my frugal bobbin winder, and now I get to start cutting up old jeans.

And...

And, after almost two years, I successfully warped the Big Green Loom. :)

And I think a cat will sleep here tonight, don't you think?

Weaver

A couple of weeks ago, I had all-but-decided to put the Big Green Loom (like the Big Friendly Giant, only BGL) up for sale. This November would be two years since Dad and I drove up to Trumble County to pick her up, and I haven't done a thing to even start weaving on her. My "weaving room" had morphed into a sewing/fabric stashing/cover the loom bench with clothing-for-fabric kind of mess, and I hadn't worked in there since the fall.

July Burlington!

The July Burlington was yesterday... Not bad weather-wise, although I was a bit hot at the end. October

My garden will be so happy because of this!

Weekend

It hadn't rained in over two weeks, so everything was extra hot and dry and drooping a little (the squash, at least; the tomatoes are fine) but we are supposed to get more rain tonight and tomorrow, and it's also supposed to cool off (a lot!)
I still haven't turned on the air conditioner, however.
I made blueberry sorbet this weekend, along with blueberry cake and a lentil salad for lunches most of the week. All delicious!

Ending

This morning on my way to work, the ending for A Glint of Silver appeared in my mind. Curiously enough, it coincides with some of the early events in Fire & Water, namely Cecilia's escape.
This is why I write without an outline. :)
