Weekend's Work

I'm off work until June, so I started right in on my list of things to do outside-- and in two days (with some help from neighbors), I have accomplished quite a lot!
This is especially great, because I don't feel as if I am drowning this year at all. I really feel its starting to come together--garden and house wise. It's not perfect, and perhaps it will never be perfect, but it's all mine. And that's what counts. :)

I planted the pole beans this evening around the trellises I made. Tomor...

Ooof, and Mother's Day weekend

Yesterday, I brought all my plants outside, just in time for it to storm quite spectacularly. Luckily, nothing got blown away, only a couple thing got knocked over.
I also repotted tomatoes. They look like they are doing well. In about a week, I'll be repotting the peppers and some of the herbs, too.
Today, we went out to brunch for Mother's Day. We got there early enough so we didn't have to wait--at all, and that was for 11 people, too! When I got back, I decided to mow the grass-...

Fruit order

This year, I ordered five more blueberries and three Concord grapes, some of which will be planted on the hill. :)

Planting

I picked up some herb plants on Sunday--thyme, oregano (mine did not come back after the winter), fennel, pineapple sage (makes a great tea), parsley (after five years, the pot of parsley finally petered out), and globe basil. I also bought an Egyptian papyrus plant, bee balm, and black eyed Susan. (All plants.)
The bee balm and black eyed Susan went in the front bed with the multitude of day lilies and the echinacea. Hopefully they will like it there. The perennial herbs will go in the...

Weekend

Yard sale on Friday and Saturday, plumber on Saturday, I was right about the location of the leak, too. Sold a bunch of stuff I didn't need to keep, didn't come home with much at all. I went to the grocery store yesterday, mowed some of the grass yesterday, mowed more today, bought some herbs and a papyrus plant, replanted some of them, sowed more lettuce seed (I will be eating baby lettuce in my salad this week), and whew! I am probably leaving something out. But what a hectic weekend. ...

Decluttering

What do you do if the clutter in your life is a direct result of the fact that your day job makes it difficult to focus on your passions due to the time it takes away from your actual life?  How do you declutter a paycheck?
Clearly, by making that paycheck less and less important, but the issue I'm running into is the fact that everything else I want to do also takes time, and when the day job takes up nearly 12 hours of my day, it's very difficult to accomplish much of anything else duri...
