Jam!

One of the things on my list for this weekend was to make more jam; I am running low. So today I made 99% Seedless Blackberry Jam and Blueberry Jam! Yum!

Blackberry. (I say almost seedless because I can't be absolutely certain there's not a seed or two in there. )
And Blueberry! The blueberry made 3 3/4 half pints, so the not-quite full one will have to be eaten first.
I know, they look alike. I will have to mark them before I put them away.
I am also making a small loaf of blueberry...

Garden update

End result of the raspberries: 13 quarts in my freezer, probably close to 18 picked (or eaten) overall. A good year!
I picked a quart of red currants, and almost a quart of both black and white.
I think I will be picking cucumbers next:

One Year Later...

One year later, and I can't really say I've missed my home Internet connection all that much. (If at all, truthfully.)

Raspberry Update

I am still picking some raspberries, but not as many as before, largely thanks to the catbirds who discovered them last week.  But that's OK with me, really, because I now have time to do other stuff. Like write. :)
Also, A Glint of Silver is over 95,000 words at this point, and still going strong.

Gardens and Cake!

The garden is growing nicely, despite the morning glory vines.

I wish all of the morning glories were the purple ones; I definitely wouldn't hate them as much!

I planted some more peppers, some basil, lemon mint, and Malabar spinach in the kitchen garden this morning:

The borage in the big garden looks quite fabulous!

So far, Garden 2014 is looking good!
I just finished Chase's cake for his birthday party tomorrow. It turned out OK, not perfect, but what is, really?

Raspberry Picking

Elsa came to help me pick the raspberries today.

She ate almost all of the ones she picked. :)

Raspberries, Burlington, and Spinning Wheels

I picked a quart of raspberries today. That's Day #6, if anyone is counting!
The raspberries are loaded!

Today was the third Burlington Antique Show of the year. I bought something for Elsa, a few ceramic tiles, a pendant, a shovel, a #7 WagnerWare cast iron skillet, a pair of wooden clogs, a potato masher, two glass divided plates, and this:

Yeah, it's a Great Wheel. But it's also signed!

And it was pretty cheap. I also sold quite a bit of the new stuff I brought along with some old stuff as wel...
