Front Porch

Right now, I'm sitting on my front porch, just watching spring erupt around me. Listening to the birds, the bumblebees; Gracie is lying at my feet. There's a lovely little breeze. I returned from our Easter lunch, fed and watered everything and everyone, took a few pictures, and decided just to sit out here for a bit and think about the garden, among other things.
The church bells just rung the hour.

This is not boredom, though. I have plenty to do, but nothing pressing at the moment. ...

Planting and Happy Birthday Kittens!

I planted loads of seeds today, including kale, Swiss chard, turnips, collards, mixed greens, and a lot of other stuff. I also made pesto from the dead nettle plants that are threatening to take over the garden! I had a chicken/pesto/provolone wrap for lunch with a freshly made tortilla. Mmmmm.
The kittens are two tomorrow! How time flies. I bought them toys for their birthday, and they are now all over the house. :)
There is a video on Facebook. I will post one here as well, later. ...

Sowing Seeds

I had every intention of sowing seeds on Monday while I was off work, but a cold snap made me wait, and I sowed them tonight. Not all of them; squash and suchlike will be sown in two weeks, but its a start.
Thankfully, nothing in the kitchen garden was affected by the cold snap. The only things that got hit were a pot of mixed greens that were in the greenhouse.

Burlington!

The two little oil lamps and the blue juicer/reamer were some of my finds this month.

The first Burlington was today; a week early since Easter is next week. I brought a decent amount of stuff and sold a bunch of stuff--although no rolling pins, surprisingly. I might lower the price a bit next month.
I bought... Not a lot, really, although I spent about $100 total. A Celtic calligraphy book that looks like fun, two Louisville pottery mugs, a box of woodcarving tools, a cherry box so...

Lists.

I get a lot more done around here when I have an actual list to work from. I need to remember that.

Thrifting

Friday after work, I stopped at Goodwill because I really needed another pair or two of pants. I had been wearing the same four pairs over and over again, and two of those pairs are starting to show their age a bit.
Clothing was 50% off, and I found seven pairs of pants (two capris, one jeans, four other) so I actually have choices now. :)
Yesterday, I even went through my closet and weeded through both pants and capris and tried on anything I wasn't sure about. I still should weed the ha...

Gardens

Planted most of the kitchen garden yesterday. Rhubarb, kale, peas, carrots, onions, lettuce, radishes... and more. It feels so nice to have the kitchen garden back in business!

Blueberry fence

Yesterday evening, I uncovered the blueberries and created a deer fence to go around them, which will hopefully work. I am mulching them with the cut branches from the bushes, which will give them more nitrogen, which they like. There will be a raised bed beside the fence for potatoes eventually.

The sky was this blue yesterday:
