It's finally October, my favorite month of the year--and not just because my birthday's in October, no... I am a proud member of the Sisterhood of October.

Perhaps you are a member as well?

I will leave you with a poem I wrote a few years ago--

Hot tea.
Cold mornings.
Leaves crunching under my boots.
Socks, my feet encased in warmth.
Cold water running through the creeks;
Birds flying in formation overhead.
Pumpkins, and sweet potatoes from the garden.

The last tomato.
Planting the garlic.
Frost on the g...

No auctions tonight because I spent the entire afternoon/evening in my bedroom, cleaning. But I'm almost done with 3/4ths of it--that's a huge improvement over what it looked like before!

So yesterday I actually managed to take photos and write up text for ebay auctions--and I actually managed to post them, too. Now, granted, there were only five, but I'm planning to post five more today, and then five next Saturday and five next Sunday, etc., etc. I have no reason not to. The garden is winding down and almost finished, I'm only setting up at one craft show this year, so really, I have time.

And while gathering up stuff to post, I looked around at everything I have and I made a...

I am on Chapter 39 of 47 (although that last chapter is rather short) in Scarecrows. Typing it in isn't a hardship, except on my hands and fingers--that much straight typing seems not to agree with them, so I'm only doing a chapter at a time when I sit down to type.

I imagine that typing in A Glint of Silver will become one of my Winter Projects, since there's much more to type in with that story.

Today, I am gathering stuff up for two things: auctions on ebay and the rummage sale. The rummage...

Well… I was on my way to the office this morning. We had an area-wide meeting, so we were all meeting at the old office and driving up together. So I was driving down a road I’ve driven down a million or so times; that I know like the back of my hand. It was raining. It had been raining on and off all night long.

This is a very twisty road. Now, I know these twists. There are also many drop-offs and ditches. The speed limit is 55mph, but I never go that fast on this road; I was probably going...

So that 4 ounces of yarn from last week? 460 yards. Not bad!
This is what I'm doing this weekend (among other things...) Spinning silk, Jacob, and plying, plus typing pages into Scarecrows.

A writer's to-do list:

Editing: "Transformation", the sequel to "So You Want to be a Vampire"   submitted 9/19

Typing in handwritten pages to: "Scarecrows", the third book in the Beth-Hill series. (That title is subject to change once I figure out a better one.)

Poking at: "Whippoorwill", which needs a bit more help than I care to give at the moment, "Darkfall" and "Deadfall", the latter which needs to be finished. (All three of these are unrelated to any series, although "Darkf...

So the second-to-last Burlington was yesterday, and I came home with a Frankoma brown teapot (which is actually very similar to Celeste's teapot in A Glint of Silver (which is the title of the combination), what I think is an olive wood cutting board (a nice medium sized one), and a small basket. Oh, and I did buy a Willcox & Gibbs sewing machine--just the sewing machine part--to resell on ebay once I work on it a bit.

I sold some stuff, but not a lot, but I can't really complain, since it...

Finished plying--this yarn, at least. Now, onto the others!
Filled up my phang; it was getting a bit unwieldy. Almost done with this batt on a different spindle.
Still playing with my pens and inks...
Burlington is tomorrow. The second-to-last one! We're going to have gorgeous weather. The high's supposed to be 76F, which is wonderful. It's even supposed to get cooler later on in the week after it rains.

I won't have any spinning wheels this time, but that's OK. I have plenty of other stuff, incl...
