Yesterday, I took Gracie and all five kittens to the vet--it was time for them to be fixed. They stayed there overnight, and it was way too quiet here all day long yesterday; I once thought that three cats were a good number, but oh my gosh, it was like the house was empty.

They are back now, and resting now. I have to keep them quiet for the next week; we'll see how that works. ;)

We just spent a nice quiet hour sitting on my bed--I started reading Finder again, since I have my perennials sitt...

Perennials

Perennials.

The topic came up elsewhere, so I thought I would post a picture of (most of) mine.

It is a very warm and windy morning here--and supposed to storm later, too! A perfect birthday morning. I had cherry pie for breakfast, even. :)

I do have to go up to church to help out with the silent auction later on, but the rest of the day is mine all mine!

The big loom is upstairs. It needs some additional cleaning before I put it back together.

I seriously considered attempting to carry the small loom upstairs by myself, but then I realized that I'd have to figure out a way to lift it over the railing to get around the corner, and that's not going to happen anytime soon... I don't have enough upper body strength for that!

All (well, as much as I could find, at least) of my yarn is upstairs now as well, and put away. The chest of drawers is full....

It's supposed to get down to 32F tonight, which means freeze, not frost, which means putting the garden to bed. So I just went out into the garden to pick as much as I could--two plastic grocery bags of greens--kale, nasturtiums, swiss chard--a few remaining tomatoes, including a perfect large green German Heart tomato (I think that's what it's called) which should ripen on the countertop. I picked a couple of turnips, but not many. No more butternut squash; the slugs have pretty much taken c...

To the left--there's the built in wardrobe and a closet.
That will be a nice place to sit when it's cold outside.
Oliver and Toby
The chest of drawers--most of my yarn would fit in that top drawer. Plus a comfy rocking chair.

The opposite wall, where the big loom will go.

In progress...
I took down the brass bed today and carted both of the beds up to church to donate to their silent auction next week. It took six trips up and down the stairs to get them out of the house.

After that, I spent most of the afternoon up in what will become my weaving studio--sooner than later, now that I'm nearly finished cleaning. It's one of the brightest rooms in the house, so perfect for weaving. I'm in the process of taking the big loom apart for transport upstairs. I may need...
