So on the way home from work today, I had a great idea for a challenge for Lent--to give up the internet. But then I thought of everything I'd have to do to prepare for 40 days without internet (stopping all my email mailing lists, is only one of them) and how many people I'd have to make sure had offline contact info (my publisher and certain friends) and I realized that I'd need a bit more time to prepare than one evening. So I've tabled that tentatively for next year.

In preparation for tomorrow morning's delivery of two round bales of rotted hay for the garden, I had to get rid of the remnants of the last round bale and clean up some branches in the spot they will go in. It was 38F, but thanks to my Carhartt coat, wool hat, and Smartwool kneesocks, I didn't freeze too badly.
It felt good to get outside and actually do some physical work for a change. Very, very good.

Due to being sick all last week with that sinus cold, I really didn't get much done around the house at all after Monday. Since I'm still snotty (in the gross definition of the word, lol) I've been clearing up small piles here and there in the entry room and the library/study this weekend. I did manage to make soup last night, too.
