I feel like I actually accomplished a lot this weekend, even though, truthfully, it was hit-or-miss. I did all the usual weekend stuff, plus plied yarn and wove a wrap and baked five loaves of challah and a coffeecake, made cream of potato/turnip soup for supper and lunches, ate too much of said challah, but how can you not? Really?

I bagged up one large bag of garbage from the side porch as well. And put two week's worth of laundry away. I sorted through sweaters and got rid of some. And I wr...

A rainy morning. For the first time in a week, however, I feel rested. I have a lot of work to do today (and a lot of other fun stuff, too) but I don't actually have to leave the house at all, which is extra nice. So all the work will be here.

I posted a video earlier this week showing how I ply yarn on a supported spindle. I thought I'd post it here too.

So my original pancake recipe was getting a bit... old and nasty, so I decided to do something different...
For recipes I use all the time but haven't memorized quite yet, I can hang them up right where I'll use them!

So doing laundry without a dryer means that on the weekends, the first thing I do is a load of laundry. I try to divvy the clothing up a bit, because I only have two drying racks at the moment, so I do one load on Saturday morning and one on Sunday. When the weather is warmer, that would change, because I could then hang everything outside.

But it's interesting. A small exercise in patience. I'll eventually get behind my dryer to clean out/replace the hose (which is why I believe it's overheat...

This is why.

This is why.

Weekdays:

I get paid for -- 40 hours a week.
Commute hours -- 15 (give or take one hour)
Unpaid lunch -- 2.5 (30 minutes per day)

Total: 57.5 hours

Divide that by 5 days = 11.5 hours per day.

I go to bed by 9-9:30 every night. Get up by 5:15am to leave the house by 6:15am to get to work by 7:30am.

Sleep: 7.75 hours per night, on average.

Writing: 1 hour per night, if I'm lucky. More on the weekends, again, if I'm lucky. I also write on my lunch break, but I'm lucky if I get a page writt...
