Weaving Room

My goal was to have all the weaving supplies and looms in one room. This meant some rearranging of the weaving room, the addition of the blue pedestal table and the blue cabinet from downstairs, and a lot of pushing and pulling as I made sure everything would fit.
The cats also like to sleep up here, so optimizing sunbeams was also a priority. :)
I still have to move some yarn on cones from downstairs to upstairs, but I'm pretty sure it will all fit. When I get into the sewing/craft room,...

Garden 2015

With Elsa's help, I planted garlic and potatoes today, as well as cleaned up in the big garden. I did not get the ornamental grass cut, but I have time yet to do that. It was such a nice day!

Rest in Peace, Terry Pratchett

Rest in Peace, Terry Pratchett

The waters of the Lancre gushed below. No one crossed the same water twice, even on a bridge.

Ridcully dropped a pebble. It went plunk.

"It all works out," said Granny Weatherwax, "somewhere. Your young wizard knows that, he just puts daft words around it. He'd be quite bright, if only he'd look at what's in front of him."

"He wants to stay here for a while," said Ridcully gloomily. He flicked another pebble into the depths. "Seems fascinated by the stones....

Adding Things Up

So last night I sat down and opened my paypal account and went through every transaction to figure out how much I'd spent at Amazon over the course of 3/11/14-3/11/15. And after I'd added it all up, I goggled at the amount, because... while some of that total was actually bulk grocery stuff I can't buy anywhere nearby, the vast majority of it was impulse purchases (and there were planned purchases, as well, like a new vacuum cleaner) and when I averaged it out per month, my mouth dropped open...

Off to her new home...

My little floor loom left for her new home yesterday. It wasn't as difficult as a parting as I expected. I had waffled and waffled whether or not to post her on ebay, and in the end, I'm glad I decided to do so. The new owner seemed happy to have her, and plans to use her... which I did not.

I think this is a one floor loom household. I have all that I need with the BGL (Big Green Loom) upstairs; I can weave rugs along with shawls and towels and whatever I might want to weave on it anyway, so...

Frigid

We've had the entire season of winter in one week. 10" of snow, record-breaking lows, more snow tonight and tomorrow... and because of this, I didn't get a whole lot done this week other than mail auction stuff and be very happy I was off work so I didn't have to deal with the commute in such nasty weather.
Auction-wise, I'm within $100 of my goal, which is very nice!
Weather-wise, this is the first night in a few that I won't have to get up to babysit my boiler to make sure nothing...

Internet, Internet and Auctions

So, right. Last weekend, I wanted to post auctions, since I am off work this week. I figured if I did that, I would have plenty of time to pack things and take them to the post office without having to rush. I'm actually planning to do this before every vacation I take during the year, and try to hold off on ebay auctions until those times.

But, what should have taken me a couple of hours at the most took me ALL DAY SUNDAY to accomplish, and that wasn't even all of them. I posted some Saturday...
