Wednesday Wanderment

Photobucket

Back to our Wednesday Wanderment! I’ve been reading lots of great blog posts and articles this week, so I can’t wait to share them with you! If you read my post about working long hours yesterday, you’ll be pleased to know that I survived, but there is still quite a bit to be done on a certain project. So much so, in fact, that I’ll be devoting almost the entire workday to it after I post this. That’s just how it’s got to be sometimes, though. :-) Good thing is, it’s a project I can throw on som...

5 Tips For Working Long Hours

Photobucket

When someone hears the word “long hours”, they typically cringe and think to themselves, “I’d never work a job that had really long hours.” You’d be surprised. If you’re doing something that you LOVE and are PASSIONATE about, you’d do just about anything to keep doing it. When I started working full time on my writing and Maiedae work from home, I had to slowly ease myself into the realization that in order to be successful, I was going to have to pull some crazy hours now and then. I’m not s...

Returning to a Normal Writing Schedule After a Holiday

getorganized

My Christmas//New Year’s break waswonderful. I got to spend anexorbitantamount of time with my family and friends and the holiday celebrations went terrifically well. I feel rejuvenated, refreshed, and wholly prepared to step back into my sea of work that has piled up over the last two weeks. However, just like anyone who returns to work after an extended break, I am feeling a teensy bit overwhelmed at the prospect of wading through countless emails, developing a semblance of a “normal routin...

Kindle Books On My 2013 To-Read List

PhotobucketI love reading on my Kindle! In fact, I’ve got a new Kindle goody I’m going to share with you all next week. For this weekend, though, take a look at all the lovelies I’m looking forward to reading in eBook form. I do still read quite a few books in print, but for many books, I enjoy the added fun that comes with reading on the Kindle.

1.Kisses from Katieby Katie Davis // I’ve heard really great things about this book and cannot WAIT to give it a read.

2.Dark Currentsby Lindsay Buroker // I lov...

Book Review: A Year of Biblical Womanhood

Photobucket

Title: A Year of Biblical Womanhood

Author:Rachel Held Evans

Length: 321 pages

Genre: Christianity // Spirituality

My Rating: 5/5

I am nearly speechless about the caliber of this book. I had heard terrific things about it before giving it my own read, but man-oh-man was I blown away. I am a big fan of Rachel Held Evans. Though I may not always agree with her on 100% of the issues discussed on her blog, I tend to agree with her 90-99% of the time. Christians who make their homes in the southern Unit...

Leaves Talk: Stylin’ in 2013

Photobucket

We’ve seen this little leaf before, I think! She’s a cutie and is off to a stylin’ start to her 2013. How is yours going? Mine is AMAZING! It has been insanely busy this first week of the year, though. Due to the fact that some of our holiday festivities are not quite over, the Philosopher and I have only had 2 proper work days this week (well, 1.5 for me…) That’s part of the fun of the holidays, though. Since you missed out on a normal Wednesday Wanderment post this week, I thought I’d share...

Loquacious Literarity: Favorite Quotes from 2012

Photobucket

If you saw this post a while back, you’ll know that I love quotes. I have a whole feature called Loquacious Literarity just to nurture my obsession with collecting verbal minutiae. I thought, since it is a new year and all, that it would be fun to share my favorite book quotes I collected in 2012. Check them out! I will of course share the books they came from and the talented authors who wrote them.

~There is the quote fromDiggers pictured above. I haven’t readDiggersyet, but since it’s a Ter...

Favorite Books Read in 2012

Photobucket

I cannot believe that 2013 is here! Time to reorganize my “I’m Reading” page on my blog. Since I’ll be taking that down to put up a starting list for 2013, I thought it would be fun to showcase my favorite books from 2012. All in all, I read 38 books. My goal was to read 12, so I tripled my goal! WOOHOO! This coming year, my goal is to read 36. We’ll see if I cantriplethat, LOL. But without further eloquence, here are my favorite reads from this year:

>>Thiefof Timeby Terry Pratchett

>>Heir to...

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Photobucket

I just LOVE that poem. Now that it’s 2013, let’s put our focus on things that are deserving of it. Let’s celebrate all our accomplishments as they come and not forget to cherish all the milestones along the way. I’m very excited about my writing projects for this next year. I can’t wait to publish new stories, to grow as a writer, and to evolve as a person. This is going to be a majorly exciting year. I hope you’re as ready for it as I am! Enjoy your New Year’s Day and have fun!
