Book Review: Deadly Games by Lindsay Buroker
Author:Lindsay Buroker
Length:328 pages
Genre:Fantasy//Steampunk
My Rating:5/5 Stars
As with all ofBuroker’s books,Deadly Gamesthrilled, enchanted, and amused. Amaranthe Lokdon is one of the most unique female protagonists I’ve ever come across in literature. Not only is she humorous, intelligent, and hard-working, but she is also a brilliant dynamic strategist–able to think of solutions to countless problems instantly on her feet.
In this, the third installment in theEmperor’s E...

2013 To-Read List: Books on the Craft of Writing
It is imperative to keep honing, developing, and growing one’s writing craft. Some unpublished writers out there might think, “Oh, I’ll make it to the ‘published author’ circle and then I’ll have arrived. Clearly my writing stands on its own. I’ve no need to spend hours pouring over workshop homework or seminar notes.” Wrong. While you may not have the $$ to attend a professional writers’ conference or workshop, I guarantee that you can probably find free or minimally pricedbooksthat can help...

January Kindle Reads Check-Up
I’ve been a busy Kindle reader this past weekend! I finished 3 books and got half-way through another by midnight last night. (o_O) I LOOOOVE reading books on my Kindle Fire. It truly makes the reading experience so, so enjoyable. I’ve already devoured 5 books in January–4 of them Kindle books (the other was a print book, so not included in the list below)! I think I’m well on my way to blowing my goal of 36 books out of the water. If I end up achieving that yearly goalearly,I’ll probably up...

Weekend Reading
The Weather Channel claims it will be cloudy and rainy for most of the weekend. That’s my cue to get comfy and snuggle up with a good book. I have major plans for reading this weekend. Aside from my mother’s birthday celebration this evening and church on Sunday, my plans revolve around spending time with the Philosopher and getting lost in the following stories:
>>Dark Currentsby Lindsay Buroker (I’m almost done!)
>>The Assassin’s Curseby Lindsay Buroker
If I devour those two, I have some other...

Leaves Talk: Spring Weather
Okay, it is seriously spring-ish in the southern U.S. right now. We’ve got rain showers, cool humid weather, and I’m positive there are some confused trees out there. Now in about a week? It’ll probably be 17 degrees. Oh you silly weather! That’s alright, though. I love all the seasons, so I rather enjoy the change from the frigid temps we had about a week ago. It’s good writing and reading weather. I think there is probably a majorconsensusout there that rainy, dreary days are terrific for t...

A Holiday Surprise! The Kindle Fire
For Christmas, a couple of my dear friends surprised me with a Kindle Fire! I was so overwhelmed by the gift that I was nearly speechless! I’m a BIG Kindle fan and I had always loved reading on my 2nd generation Kindle. However, as soon as I opened my Fire, we’ve been inseparable. At first, I was only really playing games, web browsing, and watching movies on it. Over the last weekend, however, I broke down and tried reading on it. (o_O) I’m hooked. I was really worried about reading on theba...
