Leaves Talk: New Year’s
How true, little leaf. HOW TRUE. In fact, it’s only a few days away! Time to start thinking about your goals for the new year and your favorite parts of 2012! This post today will be short and sweet. We’re all busy this time of year and I’ll be honest, I’m enjoying my winter break. Still getting some work done, but definitely sleeping in and goofing off more than working. After New Year’s, it’ll be back to the ol’ grindstone! Can’t wait! Enjoy your last few days of vacation, if you have it. I...

Wednesday Wanderment
Just to let you know, I have the sweetest husband in the world. Even though we don’t have children yet, he goes out of his way to make our Christmas mornings special. One way he usually does that is by incorporating my giant collection of stuffed animals into the present presentation. This is a shot from our first Christmas together in 2010! LOVE that man. If you’re still on break after the excitement of Christmas yesterday, I truly hope that you get to rest up and enjoy your time relaxing or...

Merry Christmas!
The Shepherds Had an Angel
The Shepherds had an angel,
The wise men had a star.
But what have I, a little child,
To guide me home from far,
Where glad stars sing together,
And singing angels are?
Lord Jesus is my Guardian,
So I can nothing lack;
The lambs lie in His bosom
Along life’s dangerous track:
The willful lambs that go astray
He, bleeding, fetches back.
Lord, bring me nearer day by day,
Till I my voice unite,
And sing my “Glory, glory”,
With angels clad in white,
All “Glory, glory”, given to Thee,
Thro...

A Christmas Tale: My Christmas Eve Tradition
Growing up, once my parents retired for the evening on this blessed day, I would turn off all the overhead lights in my room and sit in the dark with a lone candle. Then, I’d open my Bible and read the story of my Lord’s birth. Though I don’t usually read from the King James Version, on Christmas Eve, I always did. If you’re like me, there is just something enchanting about the lyrical language in the second chapter of Luke:
“…And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree fro...

A Christmas Tale Book Review: Hogfather by Terry Pratchett
Title: Hogfather
Author:Terry Pratchett
Length: 354 pages
Genre:Fantasy//Satire
My Rating: 5/5 stars
It’s no secret that I adore everything Terry Pratchett has ever written. This is my 7th Discworld novel and it has entirely lived up to my expectations. Now, I sort of broke my own rules on this book. I saw the TV movie//miniseries first. I must say, it was terrific, so I immediately wanted to read the book version. The book is, of course, better, but the movie did an incredible job of it. Unfortuna...
