WIP Wednesday: New Series, Great Reads of 2016, and More!

Happy Wednesday, everyone! Last week, I wasn’t able to get a #WIPWednesday up for you guys, so I wanted to be doubly sure that I was able to update you guys this week. Those that follow me on Instagram will know already that I finished the rough draft for Ancestors & Immortals Book 1. This is the story that was being serialized on Wattpad, but is on hiatus until I get it fully polished and completed. It’s title is Beneath the Mountain and I am excited to share more information about this seri...

My Review of Lindsay Buroker’s “Blood Charged”

I’m slowly catching up on Lindsay Buroker’s Dragon Blood series and book 3, Blood Charged helped me fully appreciate and feel hooked on the series!

Blood Charged (Dragon Blood, #3)Blood Charged by Lindsay Buroker
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

So, not going to lie, I have had a bit of a hard time “getting into” the Dragon Blood series. I think part of it is that I miss Emperor’s Edge SO much and all of those characters. I also feel like having the two romances in book 1 and 2 of Dragon Blood felt a bit rushed to me after the slow...

My Review of Lindsay Buroker’s “Warrior Mage”

I am a ginormous Lindsay Buroker fan. I will pretty much read ANYTHING that woman writes (*cue the howling wind-like sound of a scream, “Lindsay Buroker…TAKE ALL MY MONEY!!!!”*). Without further ado or merriment, here is my review of the first installment in her Chains of Honor series, Warrior Mage.

Warrior Mage (Chains of Honor, #1)Warrior Mage by Lindsay Buroker
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

As a huge fan of Lindsay Buroker’s “Emperor’s Edge” series, I was thrilled to see her start another series in the same world. I was always f...

My Favorite Reads in 2015

I promised I’d be back with more posts and here’s another one for you. See how nice I am? Huzzah! In honor of #TuesdayBookBlog, I thought I’d give you a breakdown of my favorite reads from 2015. I read over 30 books in 2015 and I only had a few that stood out to me as being “favorites” material. Here are several that I really loved and would absolutely recommend.

#1] Republic by Lindsay Buroker – I will seriously read anything that woman writes. This is the eighth book in her Emperor’s Edge...

Getting Back in the Swing of Things

It is no secret that things have been relatively quiet around here and there is good reason for that. I have hinted in the past that I’ve struggled with some health issues. I won’t mince words. I’m getting back on track with things and I’ll be honest with you. Over the last three years, I faced infertility, miscarriage, scarring depression, and some mental health struggles. Because of that, my writing and publishing schedule was affected. In July of this year, I took an opportunity working ou...

Writing When You Have a Day Job

computerfingers640

If you’ve been seeing tumbleweeds and gusts of wind blowing across the website over the last couple of years, you might have guessed I’ve been a bit busy in my “real life”. Since beginning my publishing endeavors in August of 2012, my life has changed almost entirely. I went through several family tragedies all in a row and experienced a devastating personal loss just last summer. All of that PLUS the fact that my day job has really picked up means I have less time for writing.

I think man...

Reading the Bible Every Day

I fell in love with the Scriptures as a young child. I came to Christ in late elementary school and was baptized when I was 10 years old. In 1999, I went on a Youth trip to spend the night in a cave and as we all settled down to sleep in total darkness, I discovered a treasure. Using the dim glow of the cavern’s mounted electric lamp system (which hadn’t been turned off for sleeping yet), I dug into my backpack to find a package. My mother had written me a note and wrapped up a pristine, shin...

Welcome to the New Site!

Hello, everyone!

As you can see, things look a bit different around here. Over the last few years, my life has been evolving and growing in a few different directions. I still write novels (I’ve published four!) I still work with some wonderful people through my independent contracting work. I still love to paint and draw. I still have a passion for Jesus and living life as a Christian in the modern world. In other words, my interests are diverse and I wanted my “online space” to reflect that....
