Star Kingdom and Death Before Dragons News!

Crazy times, guys! As I write this, most of the West Coast is on fire. At least it sure seems like it. Apocalyptic pictures coming out of SW Oregon. I’m over on the other side of the mountains in Bend and crossing my fingers that nothing major starts up over here. We’ve had a few fires this summer and hardly any rain since May. Super dry!

Anyway, on to the book news.

Lindsay answered Sam Kaufman's question: Lindsay Buroker
I learned a ton by participating in an online writing workshop for a couple of years. I critiqued the works of other authors, and they critiqued mine. This was a great way for me to learn the ropes and sell some short stories before I moved on to fin See Full Answer

Lindsay added a status update: What's coming this summer?

I'll be publishing Book 5 in my Death Before Dragons urban fantasy series in mid-June, and I'm finishing up Book 6 in the next few weeks. While that's with my editor, I'll be working on Layers of Force (Star Kingdom Book 8) to complete that series. So I've got lots in the works!

“Trust me, I never underestimate my charm or any of my other magnificent attributes. They work great on women. Alas, men tend to see me as an unwelcome rival. You, he might listen to. You're good at talking people into things."

"What makes you say that?"

"Because I'm perched in the rafters of a cannery, at risk from a man-slaying magical creature, and spending time with a drunk, a gangster, and an assassin at . . . what time is it?”

“You can only fight one man at a time with a sword, but, with a pen, you can compose a lecture to bore legions of enemy troops to death.”

“Waiting for the right people isn't going to get us where we want; we need to go out and find..." She groped for the right word. A mission? A project? A job?

"Trouble?" Sicarius suggested.

"An endeavor that will help the city and prove to the emperor that we're undeserving of the bounties on our heads and we're invaluable resources to his regime."

"Trouble," Sicarius said.”

Laura Hi Lindsay! woohoo! you found me :)

Lindsay Awww, thank you, Jessieee! (That's a lot of e's, by the way--not the traditional spelling. ;)

Jessie (Ageless Pages Reviews) love your books & blog. I have reading material forever :D

Lindsay Thanks for the note, John!

I read the first...eight or nine Black Company books years ago and noticed Cook had a couple more out since then, so I'm going to grab them when I get a chance. ;) I especially liked the first three with Croaker's dry humor.

message 2: by John

John Carroll I noticed you have the Black Company Chronicles on your to read list. They are really, really good. It's one of the few darker novels that I really like and I think Glen Cook got lost a little bit in the middle, but I highly recommend it.

Darcia Helle Thanks for the add, Lindsay! :)
